April 2nd, 2012– Nally’s SuperValu in Trim was presented with the SuperValu of the Year 2012 Silver award at the SuperValu National Conference which was held in the Malton Hotel, Killarney. The award was presented to store owners Stephen and Joe Nally by Martin Kelleher, Managing Director, SuperValu and Darren O’Sullivan, Head of Sector at eircom Business, competition sponsors.

These audits focused on customer care, store presentation, fresh food quality, product range, operational standards, store hygiene and local community involvement. Congratulating Nally’s SuperValu, Martin Kelleher, Managing Director, SuperValu said “Every year the SuperValu of the Year judge faces the difficult decision to choose the best stores and this year was no different, with the excellent standard of stores within our group. However, Nally’s SuperValu stood out as a winner, as it’s an exceptional store demonstrating our true brand credentials. It has an outstanding fresh food selection across all departments, offers real value for money and places a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service and being involved in its local community. SuperValu stores work hard to succeed in a very competitive market. However, it is the passion of the independent entrepreneurial retailers and their enthuastic teams that make them succeed in the market today.”

The Nally family have been trading in Trim since 1987 and has become an established part of the community employing 110 local people. In 2010 the store underwent a major refit, increasing its floor space to 15,500 sq. The increased space and new layout with a particular emphasis on fresh produce has allowed the store to go from strength to strength and expand its offering to the residents of Trim.

Try SuperValu Signature Tastes Wagyu Striploin Steak with Green Rice. 😍🔥

Ingredients

For the Steak:
4 SuperValu Signature Tastes Irish Wagyu Premium Striploin Steak
4 Hen Eggs
Chilli Oil
300g SuperValu Signature Tastes Sprouting Broccoli
2 tbsp SuperValu Signature Tastes Teriyaki Sauce
Salt and pepper

For the Green Rice:
Cooked SuperValu Signature Tastes Basmati Rice
3 SuperValu Eggs
2 tbsp SuperValu Olive Oil
2 tbsp SuperValu Garlic, chopped
3 SuperValu Spring Onions, chopped finely
1 SuperValu Green Chillies, deseeded and chopped
4 tbsp SuperValu Chopped Coriander

Method:
Before cooking, remove the steak from the fridge 30 minutes in advance to allow it to come to room temperature.
Choose a medium-sized heavy-based frying pan and preheat it on the stove until smoking hot.
Lightly oil and season the steaks, then place them into the hot pan.
Cook the steaks for approximately 3 minutes on each side.
Remove the steaks from the heat and place them on a warm plate. Allow them to rest for 4 minutes.
Cooking times guide:
Rare: 2–3 minutes
Medium rare: 4–5 minutes
Medium: 5–6 minutes
Well done: about 10 minutes
Cook the broccoli in the same pan used for the steaks. Toss in a little olive oil and cook in the hot pan for 3 minutes to char. Turn off the heat, then add 60ml of teriyaki sauce.
Fry the eggs sunny side up in a little oil. Finish with chilli oil and a pinch of salt.
For the green rice: scramble-fry the eggs in a smoking hot wok. Once cooked, add all ingredients except the rice and coriander and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the cooked rice and cook for a further 3 minutes, then finish with chopped coriander.

Sunshine, seafood, and a taste of Italy ☀️⁣
Try Linguine with Atlantic prawns, just in time for the weekend 🍷🍝⁣

Ingredients⁣
400g SuperValu Signature Tastes Linguine⁣
2 packets SuperValu Signature Tastes Wild Atlantic Prawns⁣
10ml SuperValu Extra Virgin Olive Oil⁣
1 SuperValu Garlic Clove, finely chopped⁣
1 SuperValu Fresh Chilli, chopped⁣
150g SuperValu Signature Tastes Sundried Tomatoes, chopped⁣
250ml SuperValu Double Cream⁣
35g SuperValu Flat-leaf Parsley, chopped⁣
50g SuperValu Finely Grated Parmesan⁣
1 bag SuperValu Signature Tastes Wild Rocket & Parmesan Salad, to garnish⁣
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper, to season⁣

Red Pepper and Garlic Dressing⁣
100g SuperValu Signature Tastes Grilled Mixed Peppers⁣
1 SuperValu Garlic Clove⁣
80ml SuperValu Extra Virgin Olive Oil⁣
20ml SuperValu Red Wine Vinegar⁣
Pinch of salt & pepper⁣
Pinch of sugar⁣

Method⁣
Cook the linguine in plenty of boiling salted water for 6–8 minutes, until al dente.⁣
While the linguine is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan. Sauté the garlic and chilli for 2 minutes, then add the sundried tomatoes and cook for 1 minute to break them down.⁣
Add the cream and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and cook for 3 minutes, then season with salt and pepper.⁣
Add the prawns and cook for 1 minute.⁣
Add the trained linguine, grated parmesan and chopped parsley to the sauce and toss well to combine.⁣
Season with freshly cracked pepper and serve in large pasta bowls.⁣
For the red pepper and garlic dressing, place all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth.⁣
To serve the salad, add dressing to the bottom of a serving bowl, place the salad on top, sprinkle with cheese and drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil. Serve alongside the pasta.⁣
