Before Becca’s Bakes, there was my Ouma 🤍

Her koeksisters were famous in our town — golden, syrupy perfection every time.

We lost her a few years ago, but recently I received her recipe book. Seeing that recipe again brought back so many memories of her kitchen.

Today I’m trying them for the first time.

My 16-year-old has grown up hearing about “Ouma’s koeksisters” — but he’s never actually tasted them.
That changes today.

Some recipes are more than just ingredients. They carry generations. 🤍🇿🇦
