The Moondharrig Players would like to express our sincerest sympathies to the MacCann Family and Nomac Productions on the passing of Blánaid MacCann.
In 1998 Blánaid and her friend Cathy Nolan had an idea to start a costume shop in Waterford, and "NoMac" was born. From there it grew into a one stop costume shop for stage theatre and film across Ireland. From full costumes, down to the smallest accessories, Blánaid knew exactly what was needed and nobody walked out of the shop until Blánaid cast an approving eye, often from the back room where she was busy sewing and creating.
She was such a huge presence. So knowledgeable in her work. The loss of Nomac's premises in the Tycor Fire earlier this year hit everyone very hard and the loss was felt across the country. Today is another huge loss and our thoughts are with Blánaid's family and all who have had the pleasure of working with her through the years.
