This time of the year has came again…..
The des rois is a cake traditionally shared at , on 6 January. It celebrates the arrival of the Wise Men in Bethlehem. Composed of a pastry cake, with a small charm, the fève, hidden inside, it is usually filled with frangipane, a cream made from sweet almonds, butter, eggs and sugar.
According to tradition, the youngest member of the family or smallest host, must go under the table. He is the one who decides whom will get each slice. Whoever finds the charm hidden in the cake becomes the King or the Queen and names his Queen or her King.

We are so excited to be opening this traditional french boulangerie thanks to the passion of our amazing Chef Nico, who has been working with us in Rouge Restaurant for the past 3 years.

Nico is not only a brilliant Chef, but also a bread lover, where his passion for baking comes from.

Nico comes from the south of France where he trained as a boulanger before expanding his training to become a Chef. He’s now going back to his love for bread making…

Together, we wanted to create delicious breads using traditional french methods and the finest organic flours.
