Due to the increased cost in ingredients, insurance and running costs, I have decided to close Chapel Cross Cakes. For 15 years I have been a little part of 1000's of celebrations and I made so many friends along the way. Thank you all for your business, kindness and the craic we had along the way.

When someone you grow up with gets early onset vascular dementia you lose a friend and a sometimes confidant. You watch her family care for her in a way you admire so much and you feel helpless because there is nothing you can do but stand by. Your friends world gets so small they can no longer handle crowds, visitors, strangers and slowly everyone becomes a stranger.
There is no winning with dementia, so you watch everyone’s heart slowly breaking around their Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt and wait until someone needs to talk or a hug and all you can do is be is there for them.
So many families are touched by Dementia of some sort and are struggling, they need the help of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland and our local centre The Birches helps so many local families. Call to the club rooms tomorrow if you can or donate. QR Code in Photos.
