A little update from Ruairi’s Kitchen 🤍
Over the last while, I’ve had to take a proper look at the business and at the way I’ve been working.
The truth is, I’ve been trying to do too much for too long — running the café, making cakes, weddings, deliveries, managing a team and trying to keep everything moving behind the scenes. It reached a point where the pace simply wasn’t sustainable anymore.
So, Ruairi’s Kitchen is changing.
We’ve spent the last few days making some changes to the shop and simplifying what we do. Our menu will be smaller and more focused, with more emphasis on the things that have always been at the heart of Ruairi’s Kitchen — great coffee, cakes, treats and a carefully selected savoury offering.
We’re also creating more space to sit in, slow down and actually enjoy the café.
And there’s one change I’m especially excited about…
✨ SATURDAYS ARE BACK ✨
From now on, Ruairi’s Kitchen will be open Wednesday to Saturday.
Bringing Saturdays back is something I’ve really wanted to do, and with the changes we’re making to the business, it finally feels possible again. So whether it’s a midweek coffee, a Friday treat or a Saturday catch-up, we’ll be here to welcome you. 🤍
This hasn’t been an easy decision, and there have been a lot of difficult choices behind the scenes, but I know it’s the right one.
Sometimes running a small business means accepting that what worked before doesn’t always work forever. You have to adapt, simplify and find a way of doing things that allows both the business and the person behind it to keep going.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Ruairi’s Kitchen over the years — whether you’ve bought a coffee, ordered a birthday cake, trusted me with your wedding cake, joined a class or simply followed along online.
This isn’t the end of anything.
It’s a reset. 🤍
A slightly simpler, calmer Ruairi’s Kitchen — with Saturdays back on the menu too.
We reopen tomorrow, and I genuinely can’t wait to welcome you back.
