What does the future of supplements in Ireland look like? 🤔

Hannah shares some insight into the proposed EU restrictions that could impact the supplements many of us rely on every day. If these changes go ahead, some products could disappear from shelves altogether, while others may only be available in much lower strengths than we're used to.

This isn't just about supplements! It's about protecting consumer choice and access to the products that support our health and wellbeing. That's why we're supporting the Save Our Supplements campaign.

The goal is 50,000 signatures, but reaching 10,000 would already send a strong message that people across Ireland care about this issue and want their voices heard.

We are campaigning hard to Save Our Supplements from heavy EU restrictions. Legislation that has been lingering in the pipeline for over 20 years is finally about to be rushed through this summer - completely bypassing any meaningful public discussion.

This is going to mean you won;t be able to access 4000IU vitamin D3 (it will be restricted to 2,200IU), you won't be able to buy your high strength 2,500mg Calcium (supplements will be capped at 674 mg). And on and on.

The reasoning is comfusing - it;s to do with fortification in foods - and concerns about people con suming too much of a certain nutrient. But what if we don't eat fortified foods?

Please have your day and sign our Petition, and share with your friends and family and anyone you know who might want to protect their access to natural preventative healthcare.

There’s real concern right now around proposed EU changes to supplement regulations and what this could mean for all of us here in Ireland.

In simple terms, some vitamins and minerals could be limited to much lower maximum doses than what’s currently available. That means products like higher-strength Vitamin D could become much weaker or harder to access. Which is something so many of us rely on, especially in Ireland.

One of our nutritionists, Gwen Bastian Enright shares her perspective on why this matters so much.. not just for practitioners and health stores, but for everyday people trying to support their wellbeing in a practical, effective way.

It’s frustrating and upsetting because this affects access, choice, and how we care for our health day to day.
