In the mood for Cookies, cause sometimes romantic love isn't for everyone.
But these Hong Kong style butter cookies definitely are!

Here's my take on a Nastar with a twist.

My Joy Luck Tart is made with a buttery crust that just crumbles in your mouth paired with a nastar jam cheesecake filling!

The cherry on top is a dried pineapple slice and gold flakes for that extra kick of prosperity.

I'm back from a short hiatus! Hope you all had a great festive season, Chinese New Year is always hectic in my family and I spent the time baking a storm of dishes and cookies for feasting and relatives :).

"The Joy Luck Tart" and "In the Mood for Cookies" is my take on traditional Nastar and Hong Kong Cookies. While the cookies were easy to bake, but the tart definitely took me hours and trials to get right! And definitely worth the effort.
