We have some sad news!
But first of all, Happy New Year everyone! We hope 2026 is a great year for you all, a year where you have fun doing the things that bring you joy, have the success you need to bloom where you've been planted, and get to spend as much time as needed and wanted with your loved ones!
It's been a few years of deliberation, but we have eventually decided to CLOSE the Mayflower.
From the moment Flory started full time work, the bakery was left on the back burner. It was always more of a hobby turned small business and we've definitely had some great years, but it never made an actual living.
Last year was really tough and stressful; first Nathanael finding out he had cancer and having 3 surgeries to remove that, then Flory's mother deteriorating from the cancer she had and passing away in October; and to top it off, Flory was made redundant in November. It felt like we didn't get a chance to catch our breath; but it did help us realise what we needed and wanted out of life.
2026 starts with a new job for Flory and will bring some more changes, some small and some big. So we've decided to reduce the pressure and expectations on ourselves so we can deal with what ever life throws at us next.
For the last couple of years Flory um-ed and ah-ed about closing the Mayflower down due to workload, but last years experiences practically made the decision for her.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support and orders over the last decade. You boosted Flory's confidence with your high praise and return orders and it has been an amazing experience all round!
Goodbye and take care! ❤️
