FILEY FOOD FESTIVAL 💗

So many new faces, lovely conversations, returning customers, and people stopping by to see what all the fuss is about. Thank you to every single person who bought a bake, shared a post, recommended us, or just came over for a chat.

One of my favourite things will always be watching people’s faces when they realise we’re a FULLY vegan bakery and they can literally have anything on the stall. The confusion quickly turns into excitement, and honestly, those smiles never get old.

And of course, there was the standard vegan commentary that had us absolutely creased…

“Can non vegans eat these as well?”
“We’ve lost a few but most people survive…”

As always, we’re incredibly grateful for every order, every kind word, and every person who gives us a chance. Filey, you’ve been wonderful.

It’s easy to look at someone’s finished product and assume they were always good at what they do.

I absolutely wasn’t!

These cakes and set ups are years apart, but they’re connected by hundreds of batches, early mornings, constant practicing, mistakes, wins, disasters, and a stubborn refusal to give up.

Sometimes I still look at my work and only see what could be better. Looking back at where I started reminds me how far Dolly’s has come.

So if you’re at the beginning of something, keep going. Your “before” photo might be the thing that inspires someone else one day. 💗

May, you were a bit of a whirlwind. 💖

This month brought two of the biggest events I’ve ever traded at- York Pride and Leeds Food Festival. Both were HUGE events where I really needed to pull it out of the bag and deliver... and while it definitely came at the expense of my feet and a fair bit of sleep, it was worth every second.

Not only has May been my busiest and most profitable month of trading yet, but it’s also been incredibly busy for custom orders too. Seriously... why is everyone’s birthday, baby shower and wedding in May?!

I’ve spent the month baking, travelling, setting up stalls, meeting so many lovely customers, and taking some time to really think about Dolly’s future and what I want the next chapter to look like.

Some days have been exhausting. Some days have been overwhelming. But every kind comment, every recommendation, every photo you’ve sent me, every order you’ve placed and every stall you’ve visited has reminded me why I started this in the first place.

Thank you for supporting this little pink Dolly inspired bakery dream of mine. It genuinely means more than you’ll ever know.

Here’s to an even bigger June 💕
