Having won the national title at The Wedding Industry Awards for two consecutive years, I now sit on the judging panel for both The Wedding Industry Awards and the

I thoroughly enjoy the whole judging process. Not only do I get to see some incredible talent, creativity and innovation, but I also get to help recognise and support the hard graft that goes into building and running a successful wedding business and I honestly know how tough that can be.

For those of you who are thinking of entering, or who have already submitted your applications, I very much look forward to seeing your entries and wish you the very best of luck.

DETAILS - Intricate, colourful and full of life.

This is exactly the type of design I love creating. Something I can obsess over. Spend hours designing, sketching, and refining the tiniest details.

Probably some elements many wouldn’t even notice are there. But I do, and they are just as important to me as the bolder ones.

Each and every considered item added works together to really make that cake sing.

A photographer’s recent post, a luxury wedding planner’s commitment to privacy, and my own experiences as a cake designer recently left me asking one simple question:

Do we really need to share everything?

This isn’t a criticism of those who create beautiful behind the scenes content. Some do it brilliantly and hats off to them if they do.

But somewhere along the way, it feels as though we’ve started to believe that documenting the work is just as important as doing the work.

As creatives, we are increasingly expected to share every stage of the curation process.

But if we choose not to, does that make us worse at our jobs?

Maybe the reason I haven’t filmed every stage is because I’ve been concentrating on actually making the bloody cake.

This month’s journal entry is my thoughts on content creation, privacy, creativity and why I believe not everything has to be shared.

Dolly and Jack celebrated their special day in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
Coming from a farming family, the couple were keen to make the most of their beautiful surroundings and chose to host their celebration at the family home, transforming one of the large barns into a magical setting for family and friends.

From disco balls and espresso martinis to elegant all white florals and a vintage Rolls Royce, this really was an epic celebration. (And young farmers definitely know how to party!)

This fabulous design was created for an exquisite Saudi Arabian wedding at .

The sculptural showpiece was designed to make a statement.

Curated in close collaboration with the lovely mother of the groom, which was such an honour and pleasure.

Every sketch, element and detail was refined and planned with precision, intention, and impact.

The bride’s only request was the couple’s combined Arabic initials, hand painted and set within the design as a personal insignia.

My signature baroque detailing, architectural pillar separation, and hand crafted whimsical florals, create the perfect balance of classic structure and modern romance.

“IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXHIBITED IN THE V & A”

You can’t ask for a better review than that!!

Holly has created the most stunningly beautiful Wedding Cake we have ever seen.
There were so many ‘Wows’ from all the guests! We could not have asked for more!

The details of the sugar flowers were exquisite and the flavours, absolutely delicious.

We did not want to cut it, it should have been exhibited in the V and A!

I think we have knocked off William and Catherine’s Royal Wedding cake off the top slot!
