Profiteroles cake with chocolate & walnut

Some people call that cake French Village-style Cake, and other countries from the former Soviet Union call it "Medovik" ("med or мед"- "honey"). It consists of layers of sponge cake with a cheese cream filling plus sour cream, condensed milk and honey, and is often covered with walnuts or crumbs made from leftover cake. We also put blubbery jam in between all the sponges.

Red velvet - Viking Cakes & treats
With its two layers of bold, red, cocoa-flavoured sponge and covered with rich cream cheese frosting mixed with whipping cream simply decorated with sponge crumbs, you can see why it’s my favourite cake. After all, a cake that red just has to be magic, right? 😊
