Over the summer holidays I had the absolute pleasure of giving a demonstration to the lovely ladies at the WI 🍰
I gave a 40 minute talk on what my job involves and showed them how I achieve my beautiful buttercream cakes. We then all had a go at piping, using guides and naked cupcakes, the ladies took turns decorating their cakes.

It was a lovely afternoon meeting with so many new faces. I must admit I was so nervous in the lead up to it. The maximum amount of people I've ever given a talk to is 18, this event was easily triple that number 😝 but everyone was so welcoming it became a breeze once I got settled!

What a beautiful and unique wedding cake 🥹
The theme was "Lillie's and green trailing foliage"

The bride sent through an image of her dream cake and I helped bring the dream alive, with some vintage style piping and some absolutely stunning florals from Dahlia Florists 💚🌿

The bottom tier was a fresh raspberry and vanilla sponge with a pistachio buttercream, and my homemade and home grown rhubarb and raspberry jam in the centre.
The top tier was a classic lemon and elderflower sponge, drizzled with my homemade elderflower syrup with elderflowers from ham hill and west chinnock 🍰

Delivered to Deer Park Country House

Today my sister is coming over to help me polish up the new website ☺️
All of my wedding cake information, along with occasion cakes, drip cakes, treats, and cake classes will be on there for you to look at, read through, and get booked in 🩷
There will be new services, and a couple of new cake flavours too ! 🙌 And a new enquiry system for booking!

I am hopeful that by the end of next week everything will be up and running properly and enquiries can start being taken from there, I will do a video and a whole separate post when the time comes ☺️

Thank you all so much for your patience during August ❤️ it really has been wonderful to have one less thing to worry about over the summer holidays. I have had the best down time with my daughter! And I am keen to get back to full time work now 🧑‍🍳

I've got plenty of ideas for the first week of the shed 😅 I can already see myself going ott with it all!
Sticky toffee puddings, tea cake bars, s'mores cookies, cinnamon roll cookies, blackberry cakes, peach jam victoria sponges, jam on toast cookies, as well as all of the usual thick cookie pies, deep dish cookies and brownies 🤤 oh I can't wait to be back doing my thing!

Just a polite reminder that I am currently on holiday for the summer holidays, so I am unable to help with any enquiries during the month of August.

I am still supplying the following business The Acorn Somerset, The Village Cafe - East Coker, J.J's Catering. So if you need a Vickie's cake fix you can find some goodies at these lovely small businesses.

Working from home with children is difficult as I'm sure many of you can relate to, which is why every year I choose to shut my doors for the entirety of August, to save my sanity 😅 to avoid mistakes due to constant interruptions and also more importantly to spend quality time with my family and friends and have some much needed down time ❤️.

Unfortunately I am currently fully booked for bespoke orders until mid October. My business has gone a bit wild since opening the shed nearly a year ago 😅 I am currently using my down time to work on how to efficiently run my business going forward. A lot has changed since I made my current product list and started my classes and cake shed. I need to re-evaluate a lot! By the time I am back in September I hope to have a new menu, with new products, new cakes, and a website for booking classes and cake enquiries for a more efficient way of booking!

Although I am still here replies will be slow and staggered due to the many camping trips I'm going on ☺️

Well .... I don't know what to say ... 🥹 Today was a sell out .. 😭🫣 I cannot thank you all enough for coming in force !!!! Right from 10am it was a constant stream of visitors. I am so blown away, I've had some truly heartwarming messages from people today enjoying my bakes and wishing me a happy 4 week break . I am SO lucky to have you lot, it made staying up till 1am last night worth every minute.

I will still be here over the next 4-6 weeks but if you message, replies will be slower than normal, thank you for your patience during this time ❤️
Over the summer holidays I will also be building a website so you're able to book classes and see what products I offer etc which is exciting!

Anyway thank you again so so much for all of this love and support for my business 🥹
