Panettone gives me that special, warm and cozy feeling of celebration and nostalgia.
The first thing that comes to my mind is my granddaddy Fofinho arriving at my parent’s house for Christmas and bringing me a chocottone. It was my favourite and he had never forgot to bring me one ( more than one most of the time 😂)
I think living abroad makes me diving into all those memories, and baking it’s the way I found to keep them alive and close to me.
It’s all beautiful, but to get an outstanding panettone, you need to be patient.
You have to have patience, lots of it grasshopper.
Panettone dough is the boss here. He has his own schedule set and I must admit that he is very bossy and spoiled. 😂
After more than 36 hours, here they are! Perfect crumb, fluffy, soft and melting in the mouth.

O panetone me dá aquela sensação especial, calorosa e aconchegante de celebração e saudade.
A primeira coisa que me vem à cabeça é meu avô Fofinho chegando na casa dos meus pais no Natal e me trazendo um chocottone . Era o meu favorito e ele nunca esqueceu de me levar um ( mais de um na maioria das vezes).
Acho que morar no exterior me faz mergulhar em todas essas memórias, e cozinhar foi a maneira que encontrei de mantê-las vivas e perto de mim.
Bom, é tudo muito lindo, mas para obter um panetone excelente, você precisa ser paciente.
É preciso ter paciência, muita paciência gafanhoto.
O panetone é o chefe aqui. Ele tem sua própria agenda definida e devo admitir que é muito mandão e mimado. 😂
Depois de mais de 36 horas, aqui estão eles! Miolo perfeito, macio, desmanchando e derretendo na boca.
