Well, this is what the cake turned in to! Now this may not be one you're familiar with, and frankly, if you're not, you need to head to YouTube/Amazon right now!

This is from The Trapdoor, a fab 80s cartoon voiced by Willie Rushton about Berk, who had to serve 'the thing upstairs', helped (or not) by Boni and Drutt. It's something I introduced my kids to (aka made them watch so I could watch it again), and luckily for me they were very happy with it :) My eldest recently asked if we still have the DVD for this (yes, yes we do) as he wanted to watch it again, so it was the perfect cake for him.

I really loved making this. Some cakes just make you smile, and this was one for me :)

PS - if you're after more cracking 80s cartoon fun, have a look for Stoppit and Tidyup, voiced by Terry Wogan. I realise that's nothing to do with cake, I just feel more people should know about it 😂

It was my son's 21st birthday a few days ago. We'll ignore for a minute just how old that makes me feel, and focus on the cake instead.

He's my lovely nerd, and as his uni course, his aim for work, and his hobbies are pretty much one and the same (all computer based), inspiration for a really cool cake was somewhat thin on the ground.

I did however have a little stroke of genius, and went back to his childhood for his cake. Actually, back to my childhood which I unashamedly forced onto my kids when they were little 😁

These are bad. Really really bad. Awesome too. But also really bad. Which means you neeeeeeed one 😜

Cheesecake - thick buttery biscuit base, creamy, delicious cheesecake, all in an Easter egg shell. Nomnomnom.

Flavours available -
Classic vanilla in a milk chocolate shell
Twix - vanilla cheesecake with chunks of Twix through it, in a milk chocolate shell
Biscoff - Biscoff base, biscoff cheesecake, topped with a Biscoff drizzle, in a milk chocolate shell
Nutella - vanilla cheesecake with a generous Nutella centre, in a milk chocolate shell
Chocolate orange - white chocolate orange cheesecake in a white chocolate orange shell

These will be available up till Easter, but if you would like to place an order for Easter, please make sure you order soon as I can't guarantee I will be able to purchase supplies nearer the time!

£8 each, or 2 for £15 Each egg will serve 2-3. Or one if you're me.

Available for pickup from Durrington on Tuesdays and Saturdays until Easter, between 10am and 1pm, please PM to order :)

Mother's Day biscuits, a delicious treat for mum, or the person who's like a mum to you, on Mother's Day.

Moreish vanilla biscuits, topped with either an embossed sugarpaste disc or handpainted/marbled royal icing. If the 'Best Mum Ever' sentiment is not appropriate for the important lady in your life, it can be swapped for a second 'Happy Mother's Day' text, or for an embossed pattern.

Collection is from Durrington on the 26th and 27th March, between 10am and 1pm. Please PM to order :)

If you'd like to add a little something extra to your order, why not pick up an indulgent Hot Chocolate Bomb or two as well? £3.50 each, available in Classic Milk and Orange.

Treat your mum, or the person who's like a mum to you, with one of my delicious cake pots this Mother's Day :)

Available in -
Decadent Chocolate - Chocolate cake made with real Belgian chocolate, layered with Belgian chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream and Belgian chocolate sauce swirls

Luscious Lemon - Soft lemon cake, layered with my incredibly delicious and zingy home made lemon curd, and lemon Swiss meringue buttercream

Both cake pots are presented in a lovely, reusable screw top jar and come with their own little wooden spoon, so mum won't even have to raid the cutlery draw before she can dig in!

£7.50 each, collection from Durrington on the 26th or 27th March, between 10am and 1pm. PM to order!!

I recently had the pleasure of making a cake to celebrate my utterly gorgeous Goddaughter's 18th birthday. She loves Donald, so she got Donald. Sadly, because I'm a twit, I only took a few front shots of him, and they're not great. I know, I know. If only I did this for a living and knew how to take photos 🤦‍♀️Anyway, you'll just have to trust that he was Donald shaped from the side too 😏

He stood nearly 2' tall, took about 20 hours to make (not including making/baking time, or making the structure) and he's the result of all the hardware I posted up last week!
