Looking for something to do over the summer in Maryport?

We have a wide variety of events and workshops run by local artists and creatives!

Stone Carving 🪨: Running weekly 6.30 - 9pm Wednesdays from 24th June - 27th July. This workshop will be led by the very experienced and friendly Tony from LOST in STONE who will guide you to make your own unique stone carving to take home.

Medieval Martial Arts 🥋⚔️: An afternoon workshop Saturday 13th June 1pm - 4pm on medieval martial arts including dagger and sword fighting. This exciting workshop is bought to you by The Exiles Carlisle

Fused Glass Course 🫟: Running weekly 6.30pm - 8.30pm every Monday from 22nd June - 27th July. You'll work with glass in different formats and combine with different materials to take home a range of hand crafted peices. This workshop will be led by the talented Steph from Check Out My Plumage

Radio Acting 🎙️🎭: A one day course on radio acting on Monday 29th June 10am - 3pm where you'll learn an introduction to radio drama, led by Stefan from the wonderful company Ragged Edge Productions

Acrylic Pet Portraits 🐕🐹: Running weekly 10am - 12pm from Thursday 10th July until Thursday 3rd September. A friendly art course where you can bring any of your beloved pets and furry friends to life.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by my stall at the Distington Walled Garden fete on Saturday and the Newcastle Craft & Flea on Sunday.
​My heart is so full after seeing so many familiar faces and meeting plenty of lovely new ones at both venues. Your support means the world to me! 🫶

We are on the lookout for local creatives looking for paid work! We are busy working away on our offering and these are some things we would like to look into!

So far we have pottery courses with a stone carving and wood carving courses on the horizon!

We are eager particularly to offer something to our community that would otherwise be hard to access.

Any profits we make from courses will be put back into continuing to develop the building and activities we can provide. But we also want to make sure we pay people at a fair rate so that a creative career is viable
