What a fantastic bank holiday we had yesterday with our first Oak Apple Day at the Commandery.

Bank Holiday Monday 26 May, 10am - 4pm | The Commandery Step back in time to 1660 and celebrate the restoration of the crown on Bank Holiday Monday in a fantastic day bringing history to life in Worcester. Oak Apple Day marks the historic moment when King Charles II returned to the throne following....

We’re excited for our first Oak Apple Day on Monday 💥
The cafe will be open all day serving our usual goodies to enjoy in our canal side garden or take into the museum with you where you won’t miss any of the action.

Got your Bank Holiday Monday plans sorted? 🌳

Enjoy a fantastic day of living history at The Commandery which marks Restoration Day (also known as Pinch-bum Day, Shick Shack Day, and Bumping Day...)

Watch dramatic musket firing demonstrations in the gardens and take part in interactive pike and cannon drills that allow children (and grown-ups!) to step into the role of a Civil War soldier. 💥

Be transported back to the 17th century by the brilliant Worcester Reenactors, and enjoy history talks about Oak Apple Day and the English Civil War.

Pop into Little Al’s at The Commandery café to refuel through the day, or bring along a picnic to enjoy in the gardens. 🧺
