It’s hard to work out what to say, and we’re only in the early days of having the brain space to process what an astounding summer it’s been. We’ll post about each festival individually, but for now we’re reminiscing on the last month as a whole.
If you stopped by and ate or drank with us this summer at Vegan Camp Out (UK), We Out Here Festival , or Forwards Bristol , we want to say thank you, we love ya, and we can’t wait to see you again. Your support means everything, because we literally wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you visiting our stalls and choosing to grab a coffee or a doughnut from us.
Behind the scenes, we have been preparing for months; crying a few tears (though less than last year - you lose some, but you win some too!) dealing with coffee machine disasters, baking in to the night, ordering and counting stock a million times over because we absolutely cannot run out of chai again this year, building new signage, glued to spreadsheets, getting to bed at 2am only to wake up at 5am and do it all again (after waking up at 4am and remembering that thing you have to add to your to-do list immediately)… honestly, it has been nothing short of miraculous that we’ve pulled this off.
We’re endlessly impressed by our GULP gang- over 35 of us this year, most of whom were strangers to each other and us before we all got dusty in a field together and my god, how incredibly lucky we were to end up with such a passionate, talented, hard working group of legends. We’re immensely grateful to these friends, old and new, and over the moon that they chose to spend their summer covered in dust and coffee with us. A post to these wonderful humans is pending- who they are and how key they’ve been to the operation this year deserves highlighting. And as always, a special shout out to the Vherbz vherbalkitchen - Vegan Neapolitan Pizza but in the shape of Crust Daddy's this summer, who not only kept our team fed with the worlds best pizza, but whose friendship, cuddles, 1am tears, love and pats on the head we’d be lost without.
