MK SOUP

MK SOUP Based on the Detroit Soup model, this is small crowdfunding for the community, by the community.

Based on the Detroit Soup model, MK SOUP is a meeting place for people who would like to make the world a better place - whether through food, art, community action, sustainability or another exciting idea. On the evening of MK SOUP you buy a £5 ticket for a bowl of homemade soup and in return, you get to listen to a number of people pitch their community ideas. At the end of the night, the crowd

votes for its favourite idea and the winner takes the profit of the night. Two months later, the group then hears back about what has been achieved with the money. MK SOUP takes place at Foundation House on The Square in Wolverton. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along - you turn up on the night, and for £5 you get a bowl of soup, a chunk of bread, good company and a vote to change the world! MK SOUP is a joint collaboration between MK Christian Foundation and MK Food Revolution.

**POSTPONED** - We are sorry to say that in light of the developing Coronavirus situation we have made the decision to postpone next week's MK SOUP (which was due to take place on Friday 20th March). We are sure that you understand this is to protect our pitchers and supporters and that to go ahead would feel like an unnecessary risk at this time.

Please check back every few weeks for updates - once we have a clearer idea of the situation and if and when we can go ahead we will update you accordingly.

Winners of tonight's MK SOUP were the very productive We Love Wolverton!!! Raising money towards their projects including the Advent Walk & Carols plus a Silent Disco. We heard from Save Wolverton's Swifts and Martins with feedback from previous winners Mountain Rangers MK!

Our last MkSoup raised £200 for GIRL PACK a fabulous charity set up by 13 year old Paige to help fight period poverty. Paige was struck by how many girls were unable to buy basic needs such as sanitary protection and were missing school because of this. The money raised went to buy knickers and sanitary products and some prizes for the POP event they attended.
