Want to join me in making a difference?

My name is Tamara, I am 33 years old and love reading, board games and martial arts.

On Sunday June 7th I will be shaving my beloved hair, currently approximately 80cm/31inchs in the Jubilee Gardens on West street.



All money raised will be split between two very worthy charities.



The first is Cancer Research UK for the many people I’ve known that have fought this great battle, those who won and those who, sadly, lost. Cancer Research UK funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. They also provide information and education about cancer to the general public.



The second is Wivey Cares, a local charity which works to support those in our community who need help, whether through age, illness or accident. Wivey Cares links local people in need of help with microproviders, local people willing and able to offer care and support within their community. As well as providing training and support for those microproviders so they can give the best care possible.



As a microprovider myself I can’t begin to explain how rewarding it is to know that what I do actually matters to the people I support.



Any donation will help make an impact.

Wiveliscombe is full of wonderful volunteers that support a multitude of charities within our community

This Friday (5th June) at Wivey Cares Hub and Grub we are joining together with In The Mix Project

Come along and hear about their youth work, opening up opportunities to the young people in our parishes. Perhaps you may hear about something you'd like to get more involved in

Doors open at 10.30am, lunch is served at 12pm, and we will be getting creative with candle and wax melts making afterwards

Wildlife and Gardening Talks
Saturday 6th June 5.30pm

Join us for an inspiring evening with Pauline Homeshaw as she chats with special guests about gardening, wildlife, and restoring nature in our own green spaces. Jennifer Kenn will share the story of restoring a one-acre David Austin Roses rose garden, while James Grischeff, Director of Nature Recovery at Somerset Wildlife Trust, will explore practical ways we can help nature recover and transform our gardens into thriving habitats for wildlife.

We are also hoping that a veteran gardener will be able to join the panel on the night to share wisdom, practical experience, and plenty of light-hearted gardening stories.

This part of the event is free to Garden passport holders, or donations at the door without one

Jubilee Gardens will be Wivey Cares Secret Gardens head-quarters for the weekend of June 6th and 7th

Come along to pick up your passports from 10am. Dont forget to bring them back, stamped and ready to be entered into a free prize draw

The Wind Band will be playing on Saturday 6th 12.30-1.30pm

At 2pm Blue Shed Flowers will be doing a flower arranging demonstration

Running all day will be the refreshments stand, and a plant sale
