I offer one-to-one and small groups tutoring sessions to students from primary age all through to A Level, as well as adult/casual learners. My classes are tailored to each student's needs. Sessions are run online and face-to-face within West Oxfordshire . My aim is to make learning enjoyable, interestin

Even on a 13km hike with a 750m elevation gain I manage to think of grammar 🤓

"Quel" here is an exclamatory determiner, used to express surprise, emphasis, or strong emotion.
It conveys the meaning of 'what', 'such', 'what a'.
It must agree with the noun in gender and number.

Par exemple :

★ Quelle vue! What a view! 😍
★ Quel dommage! What a pity! 🤷‍♀️
★ Quelle chance! Such luck! 🍀
★ Quels idiots ! Such idiots! 🤦‍♀️
★ Quelles jolies chansons ! What pretty songs! 🎶

I'm always enchanted and a bit emotional when walking through my hometown's narrow streets, countless hidden squares and medieval buildings.

★ A dynamic and young city (every fourth person here is a student, every other is under 30!) 🎉

It's the perfect holiday destination (and I'm not even mentioning the food and the wine)! 😋

This is what we call Bastille Day in France. Never 'le Jour de la Bastille' 😃

"Nous aurons toujours Paris..."

As a child, I remember finding Paris utterly exciting, yet also loud, a little dirty and somehow discourteous.

Nowadays I find it even more mesmerizing, and so much more welcoming and easy-going. The noise over the years seems to have shifted from the roads to the bar and restaurant terraces, with bikes everywhere (which _en vrai_ , the French drive as maniacally as cars).

It's a new experience every time, and every time I fall in love with its Lights a bit more 💙

The 6th of January commemorates the visit of the three Wise Men to baby Jesus. It's traditional (on that day and throughout the month) to eat 'la Galette des Rois', a cake made of two layers of buttery puff pastry and frangipane, a kind of almond cream with butter and sugar.

A small charm ('la fève') is hidden in the cake and the person who finds it in their slice is the King or Queen for the day, wearing a crown for the rest of the day. 👑👑👑

⚜️ Fun fact!⚜️ The French president is not allowed to play the “Galette des Rois” game. A giant 1.2m galette is prepared for the Elysée each year but the pastry chef is not allowed to bake a fève into it - entirely inappropriate for a King to be crowned in the presidential palace! 😃
