4 years of Little Peony Cakes ✨

What started in my home kitchen after training as a chef and dreaming of building my own business has now become over 50 weddings, partnerships at 7 beautiful venues, countless consultations that feel more like catch ups with friends, and somehow… surviving every summer heatwave as a buttercream artist (most recently having a wedding cake outside on the hottest May on record 🫣 don’t worry it was perfect!)

But genuinely, one of the things I’m most proud of over the last 4 years is the connection I’ve built with every single one of my couples 🥰

I know people always say this, but I truly do feel like so many of my couples become friends by the end of the process. Being trusted with such a special part of your wedding day is something I’ll never take lightly ❤️

I’ve always believed a wedding cake should be more than just something beautiful to look at. It should create a moment. The moment everyone gathers around, the moment the celebration truly begins, the moment that feels intimate, exciting, and completely personal to you.

To every couple who has trusted me to create that moment for them, thank you 🫶🏻 Thank you for inviting me into your wedding plans, trusting my creativity, sharing your ideas with me, and allowing me to create something that becomes such a focal point of your day.

4 years later and I’m still just as excited as I was when I first started, when I finally get to see our vision come together on your wedding day.

Congratulations to David and Antony who married on a sunny April morning at the always stunning High House! 🌱

A&D planned their wedding in record time and they were quick to get in contact with me as a recommended supplier at their venue.

Even in the short space of time, their vision was clear and considered - they wanted their wedding cake to be “impressive, but not too feminine”, with seasonal fresh fruit and personal details.

As their wedding cake progressed, David and Antony’s ideas were led by our .options flower crown and gold hoop separator - an absolutely spectacular combination!! ✨

Making full use of my Ultimate Styling Service, they truly brought their wedding cake display to the next level…
Styled with soft linens, candlelight, and layered textures, it transformed the setting into something that was considered on every level. Creating the impressive moment they were looking for when it was time to make their first slice 🥂

Congratulations to Alex and Juljia who married on a beautiful Monday in March at the breathtaking Hedingham Castle!

I’ve been to Hedingham Castle a handful of times, but I’ve never had the privilege of stepping inside THE castle, so it was a real treat to have one of my cakes inside this historic venue 🏰

Alex and Julija first contacted me in 2024, and right from the start they had a super solid foundation for their medieval theme.

They weren’t quite sure how their theme would elegantly translate into their wedding cake design, but with my guidance and signature style, their dream cake started to take shape…

Their wedding cake design drew on soft greenery, with delicate buttercream stencilling and hand piped leaves, finished with subtle touches of gold leaf as a nod to the metallics found around the castle.
Anchoring the design was the foliage crown at the base. Creating a striking yet understated focal point 🌿

Although their wedding was beautifully intimate, Alex and Julija wanted their wedding cake to quietly command attention and become a natural talking point among their guests.

My Ultimate Styling Service, allowed their cake to feel fully considered within the space.
Styled with soft linens, candlelight, and layered textures, it transformed the setting into something more atmospheric. Creating a truly intimate moment when it was time to make their first slice 🥂

Some advice I’ve been given as a wedding cake designer… and why I’ve ignored it 🤭

“FOLLOW TRENDS TO STAY RELEVANT”
I design for longevity, not for what will feel dated in a year. Timeless elegance will always stand out more than a passing fad.

“SAY YES TO EVERY ENQUIRY”
I’m not here to be the right fit for everyone, and that’s the point. I choose my couples as much as they choose me. When there’s alignment, the process feels effortless and the cake feels personal.

“CUT YOUR PRICES TO BOOK MORE”
I don’t adjust my worth to suit a budget. My pricing reflects the care, craft, and luxury experience I provide, because the right couples value it.

“OFFER BUTTERCREAM & FONDANT”
I’m a buttercream queen through and through. The taste, texture, the different finishes I can create - it’s perfect in every way.
Fondant just isn’t my thing, and that’s more than okay.

“LUXURY IS ALL ABOUT MORE”
For me, true beauty isn’t about overdone extravagance. A refined, flawlessly executed idea can be more powerful than an overload of decoration.

This is 25 🥂✨

It’s my birthday!
And I’ve fully committed to celebrating properly… I’ll be in London seeing Wicked, eating something delicious, and pretending my laptop doesn’t exist for a few days.

No emails. No work. Just a little reset and a lot of happiness 🤍
