Wishaw and District Brigade Band We are a Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade Band that offers young people free tuition in Brass, Woodwind and Percussion instruments.

Formally known as 2nd Wishaw and 4th Carluke Boys Brigade Band.

Music has always been a big part of 4th Carluke, and the band gives young people, in Primary 4 upwards, the opportunity to learn, perform and develop their musical skills! 🎺🥁🎶

Whether you're already a musician or have never picked up an instrument before, there are opportunities to get involved and learn a new skill!

And the best part? Learning to play is completely FREE! 🙌

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Our band is looking for volunteers to help teach brass and woodwind instruments to young people across North and South Lanarkshire. 💙

We provide FREE music lessons for young people from P4 up to 17 years old, helping them discover the joy of music, build confidence and develop new skills. 🎵

But to keep these opportunities free and accessible, we need more amazing volunteers to join our team!

🎺 BRASS
• Trombone
• Euphonium
• Baritone
• Tenor Horn
• Cornet

🎷 WOODWIND
• Saxophone

You don't have to be a professional teacher, if you have musical experience, a passion for helping young people and a little time to give, we'd love to hear from you!

All volunteers will complete the necessary PVG checks and training, including child protection training, provided by the band.

📍 Rehearsals: Sundays, 6pm–8:30pm
📍 Wishaw New Kirk, 171 Greenhead Road, Wishaw, ML2 8LG

Whether you can help every week or can offer occasional support, your time could make a huge difference to a young musician.

🎶🥁 Big shout-out to Robbie! 🥁🎶

Yesterday at Sanquhar Day of Riding, Robbie got the fantastic opportunity to play a tune with Stonehouse Pipe Band — and of course, when he got to pick the tune, he went for a 6/8!

A huge thank you to Stonehouse Pipe Band-Official for giving Robbie the chance to join in and make some great memories.

Well done, Robbie! 🎵👏

Another post from Thursday's performances. This was our first joint performance with Coalburn Brass Band Family, and it was a fantastic experience. We played Slaidburn as we made our way from St Mary's Church Hall down to St Nicholas Church.

On Thursday we had a very wet one, but the band had the honour of playing during Lanimer Day this year. Despite the weather, it was a great day.

A big well done to the whole band, but a special shout out to 3 of our learners. 2 of which only joined the band as learners in October, and 1 joined at the end of November. Their progress and commitment has been fantastic to see
