Hope you are all having a lovely day celebrating VE day! Our street is covered in bunting, we've baked biscuits for our socially distanced street party, and our weekly window display was designed and implemented by Harrison with only a little help from me (honestly!)

Yesterday my bright and brilliant middle boy turned 4. Aptly his chosen birthday theme was rainbow, and despite self-isolating we had a wonderful celebration (including making a rainbow for our window!) Thank you Herbie for bringing us so much joy, especially at such a strange and unsettling time. And I promise I will try and find a submarine ride for us to go on when we can! Stay safe everyone x

Life with 3 kids is a bit more chaotic than I imagined... And I realised I haven't posted these recent family birthday bakes, so here are a few sweet treats ahead of GBBO dessert week (any excuse for something sweet!) The big boys had a lot of ideas, and loved baking them with me, I think birthday biscuits are now officially a Brackley tradition!

Happy 80th birthday to my amazing Nanny! We had a great time celebrating last Friday, and despite eating a LOT of this coffee cake my boys still slept well, phew! Topper made by my biggest boy, with a little help from me (the typographer in me couldn’t cope with wonky number cutting!)

Merry Christmas everyone! Nothing like a bit of last-minute Christmas cake decoration... nice and simple to leave plenty of time to watch Christmas films. Plus the biggest boy loved making the ‘snow’, there was icing sugar everywhere! Hope you have a very merry Christmas ###

A belated happy birthday to Mr B! His birthday fell on the same day as our oldest started school, so it was a very emotional and busy day meaning a very simple birthday cake (again!) I did love the chance to use these mini balloons though, plus the boys loved baking and decorating the cake... and playing balloon bash of course! I am enjoying the copious amounts of cake to get me through the day missing my oldest baby. The house is so quiet! Hope everyone is having a good day and enjoying the sunshine
