Ok...brace yourselves, the school summer holidays are here, the rain is non stop and it's time for the ultimate mum challenge! It's time to unleash your inner circus ringmaster because the kids are off, and we're juggling like pros! 🎪🤹‍♀️🤸

(I realise we're in full swing now but some of us swannied off for the first few weeks on holiday (ahem) so go with it...)

So, here's the plan for an epic summer survival:

1. Say hello to your new identity - The Flexible Powerhouse! We'll make our own schedules and show time who's boss. Whether it's balancing work during ice cream breaks or doing cartwheels while on a call, we got this!

2. Who needs the beauty that is (😭) when we can create our very own "Summer Break Office"? Think the tiny space next to all the toys on the floor, or the cupboard where you can hide with a phone. It's a mumpreneur's dream come true!

3. Toddler Takeover: You know what they say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! Let's include our mini co-workers by making them feel like the bosses. They may not understand spreadsheets, but they're experts at bossing us around! Go on...I dare you, let them loose on your Mac - hopefully you've got insurance 😅

4. Mum Squad Unite: We're not in this alone! Rally your fellow mum friends, and together we'll conquer the summer break madness. Trading playdates and hilarious mum memes are a must!

5. "Mum Time" Olympics: When the day's work is done, it's "Mum Time" Olympics! Events include "Fastest Bead Necklace Untangler" "Chaos Cleanup Marathon," and "Snack Preparation Sprint." Let's see who takes home the gold!

Remember, amidst the whirlwind of summer fun, don't forget to treat yourself! Sneak in an extra long break on the toilet on your phone, cry into your ice cream and maybe, just maybe try not to feel guilty about EVERYTHING!!!

Oh and don't forget to catch up on And Just Like That whole ignoring the mess from the chaos that was your day.

I'll drink to that 🍷

*Why do I work for myself*

I get asked this all the time...in fact it's a classic question you get asked when you have a coach/mentor.

People often say that it's all about the flexibility, especially when you have a family. It's being able to be there for your children at sports day without feeling guilty.

But if I'm being honest...that's not my why. It plays a part obviously. But...I'm afraid to say, I STILL feel guilty about taking time out for sports day/summer holidays/Christmas play etc.

My why is much more straightforward. I was made redundant a few months after going back to work part time after having my eldest. I knew I wanted to work part time so I could have a day or two with him and after I was made redundant...there simply weren't any PT jobs out there with a decent salary.

So I took a gamble and it paid off. I was incredibly lucky that I picked up clients quickly and I found that I could do what I was already doing in my career previously but this time as my own boss.

And my why now? It's actually a real cliche and sounds like something you'd say in a job interview! It's my clients. I love helping them and making a difference to their lives and their businesses. I get immense satisfaction from taking a load off their shoulders - or actually helping them mentally and emotionally, by simply being there.

Ok, there's one more why... although a bit embarrassing. I like making money and feeling like I've built something successful. Don't judge me 🙈 (how dare I enjoy making a successful business as a woman!)

I did a thing....

So many people have told me how hard they're finding it to get associate positions as a VA. There is so much competition out there!

When I recently advertised for an associate, I received over 40 applications, and if I'm being honest, only a quarter of them were decent applications. So many people made really simple mistakes - like not spell checking their emails - something so easily done if you're in a rush, but also so incredibly important!

So with that in mind, I wrote a guest blog for and I'll be honest, I'm quite proud of it.

If you're a VA and feeling disheartened as you're not getting anywhere with associate positions - have a read. I'd love to know what you think.

I want to share something with you. I know it's been a while and I know I'm far too late in the month for any sort of New Year refresh post but for reasons I won't go into, I feel my New Year officially started yesterday.

So I don't have a word of the year (missed the trend!) and my NY resolution has taken me a little longer to come up with this year but it feels much more sustainable and less impulsive.

Life is too short and I'm getting older and wiser. My intention is to pull back on trying to fill my diary to the absolute full with paid clients and take a step back to work on my business and to do the things I said I wanted to do from the word go - such as working on my own business, running more courses (in-person) and actually having a bit more time for me and my family.

I remember when I started working for myself, I was following this other business, and I felt so inspired that they took time out to have a spa day once a month. They used it as a strategy day but essentially it was for their wellness and it was a perk of working for themselves.

Which leads me to my NY resolution. I'm going to have more fun (in life and in business) and look after myself more. I'm going to treat myself to a blow-dry or a massage or a mani/pedi once a month (in working hours!) and I'm going to achieve the goals I set several years ago.

I took a big leap yesterday by stepping away from a client in order to make room for other things. Crazy maybe but also incredibly exciting.

Also on NY list...get rid of double chin 🙈🤣

Let me introduce you to Emma ✨

Emma started working with me in September last year and I don't know what I'd do without her 🥰

Emma decided to get into the world of VA-ing after working with children for 12 years and she hasn't looked back. She loves that every day is different - designing on Canva one day, organising a VAT return the next. She loves helping her clients and, like me, finds it immensely satisfying. Outside of work Emma enjoys kayaking, travels as much as she can and loves to finding new amazing vegan food.

When I was away last week, Emma held the fort for me with Tash (who I'll introduce you to next week) and I can't thank them enough. I love that I've got an amazing team behind me who I can pass everything on to when I'm away.

Hell yes you do! Let me tell you why...

✨ Some customers will find you from your website

✨ Some customers will find you from your socials

✨ Most customers who find you on social media will check out your website before buying

✨ A large amount of customers who find your website will check out your social media before buying...perhaps even following you for a while before hitting buy

So make sure both your social media and website look good. You don't have to be updating your website every 5 minutes but it should reflect who you are as a business.

Pop a 🔥 in the comments if youre happy with both your socials and website.

Gimme a 🙈 if you're adding one or both to your to do list to improve 😉

Have you seen that you can now pin posts to the top of your grid?

One thing I suggested suggest to people is that you should be able to tell what it is you offer by quick glance at the top of your grid and this handy new tool means you can always ensure that your best posts are pinned to the top.

So why not do it right now? Choose 1 or 2 posts that you want people to see when they're discovering your profile and pin them to the top of your grid.

Let me know in the comments one you've done it. I'd love to see what you choose!

Not sure which post to choose? Why not come to my Instagram Content Creation workshop on Friday 22nd July! More details pinned to the top of my grid (see what I did there 😉)

Six years ago I became a Mum and my whole world turned upside down.

Being a Mum is HARD WORK and I don't think I had any idea what I was signing up for.

Six years in... two children, two businesses, two guinea pigs, a cat and a very patient, hard working, loving husband that somehow manages to keep everything ticking along...and I'm starting to appreciate that life is:

👧 Hard
🧒 Busy
🤹‍♀️ A constant juggle
😴 Tiring
🥰 Bloody marvellous and an absolute wonder

I'm who I am today because of the craziness that is my family life and I'm so incredibly thankful for them and for the person they have forced me to become.

Now who's crazy idea was it to organise 6 parties in the space of a month 👀

01/07/2022

Ok, so I'm going to be a bit controversial here...

I'm all for social media challenges where you post every day but anyone else get social media burnout after you've completed it? I did recently, you may have seen me post post post continuously a couple of months ago...and then nothing 😳👀

There has to be a better way! And I think there is...

Join me on Friday 22nd July at the fabulous for a day of Instagram content creation where I'll give you a whole bunch of tips on creating content easily AND a focus on stories.

But most importantly we'll be creating a shed load of content for you to go schedule or keep up your sleeve ready to post when you're ready (perfect for summer!).

The link to join us is in the bio, hurry though as I only have a few spaces left.

Hi, my name is Louise

I love being a virtual assistant, helping others to achieve fantastic things by freeing them up to do what they’re great at. I’ve always loved administration and looking after people. I’m a natural at organisation, planning and research and above all else, I love a challenge. Oh, and cake! So, you can be assured there’ll be an endless supply in our meetings.

If you’re looking for a virtual assistant then you are looking for efficiency, reliability and discretion. You want someone who understands your work pressures and can help take your mind off those tasks that are weighing you down.

Having worked in secretarial and administrative roles for over 10 years, I can bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to you and your business. And as a working mum, I certainly know how to multi-task.
