The Secret Crocheter

The Secret Crocheter Crochet Teacher & Designer🧔1-2-1 Learn to Crochet sessions & Crochet Workshops 🧶Kits & Patterns 🌟 I’ll be honest with you – I really am living the dream.

I’m well known around these parts for teaching lots of lovely folk how to crochet, running lots of fabulously creative crochet workshops and spending my days designing loads of new ways to feed your crochet addiction! If you’re looking for someone to teach you to crochet; whether you’ve never held a hook before or your gran tried to teach you 20 years ago and you’ve forgotten some of it, then look

no further – I’m the woman for you. I’ve taught over 400 people to crochet in the last few years and have plenty of tricks up my sleeve for the bits you find tricky. I’m also an ex primary school teacher so I have the patience of a saint! Perhaps you’re a dab hand at the crochet already, maybe you’re looking to improve your skills, or just want some new friends to crochet with – book onto a crochet workshop or two and get creative with some like minded crafters. After a couple of hours with yours truly in the crochet cabin, stuffed full of tea/coffee and biscuits, you’ll be feeling super chilled out and relaxed, and will leave with a real sense of achievement (along with the pattern to make more, some new friends and a bag of goodies!)

For those of you who like to shop ā€˜til you drop, step outside of the crochet cabin and into the secret stash! This is where you’ll find all my easy to follow crochet patterns, simple and achievable crochet kits, and handmade accessories for crocheters. (EVERYTHING is also available to buy online!) A lot of my crochet patterns and kits are perfect for all you newbie crocheters out there as they all come with video stitch guides, and additional videos for new and trickier techniques. Sometimes it’s just easier to show you in a video rather than writing it down!

I do love designing projects that feel a little bit ā€˜ooh fancy’ without actually being stressful to make šŸ˜‚

This Tulip Crochet Basket Kit has quickly become one of my favourites in the cabin.

The chunky cord gives it such a lovely sturdy feel, and then the tulips around the top just make it feel really cheerful once it’s finished.

It’s one of those crochet projects that’s calming to sit and make, but still gives you that little moment of pride afterwards when people ask where you bought it from!

The kit includes the wooden base, and there are step-by-step photos and videos throughout the pattern too, so I’m there to help with the decorative parts.

Perfect for crochet bits, little gifts, yarn storage or simply adding a handmade touch around the house.

If you’re always missing out on the little crochet extras because they sell before you spot them…this is your sign to come and have a look šŸ‘€

They’re the sort of thing that people spot at workshops and immediately ask about…and once you start reading the slogans it’s very hard not to want more than one šŸ˜…

Each badge is handmade by me in The Crochet Cabin, comes on a lovely presentation card and has a proper sturdy pin fastening - they’re ideal for project bags, jackets and totes that get dragged everywhere with you.

Designed by the lovely Isle of Design and made with lots of yarny love in the cabin.

This would make such a nice little treat for a crochet friend…or a good excuse to brighten up your own project bag a bit.

Who's got the full set?!

I do love a crochet project that looks impressive but doesn’t take forever to make šŸ˜‚

This Hanging Basket Crochet Kit is one of those really satisfying makes that comes together surprisingly quickly and gives you something lovely to hang up straight away 🌿

It was even featured in Crochet Now Magazine ✨ and so many people have made these as gifts for fellow plant-loving friends and family.

Made using gorgeous chunky Bobbiny cord, it has such a beautiful texture and a lovely modern feel once finished. Perfect for trailing plants, cosy corners and adding a little handmade touch around the house.

Although I think we can all agree…the hardest bit is choosing the yarn colour šŸ˜‚

If you’re a crocheter who loves a surprise project…you need to hear about this šŸ‘€šŸ§¶

My Secret Crochet Workshops are honestly one of my favourite things I run. There’s something so fun about everyone turning up having absolutely no idea what they’re about to make 🤭

You get your mystery kit, grab a cuppa and some cake, then we all reveal the project together.

And before anyone panics…if the thought of walking into a room full of people you don’t know makes you feel awkward, I promise it’s not like that. I meet everyone at the door, show you where you’re sitting and make sure everyone’s looked after. No awkward school vibes where you don’t know who to sit next to 🤣

It’s a bigger workshop than the cosy ones in the cabin, but everyone gets plenty of help (teacher mode kicks in fast šŸ˜‚). Plus the Secret Crochet Elf is coming to help me too.

Oh…AND there’s cake.
And a bonus crafty little project while you’re there.
And June’s make is a good’un šŸ‘€

If you can’t make the workshop, the Secret Crochet Kits are available to preorder too, so you can still join in the fun from home.

Bookings and preorders close this weekend because I need to order all the lovely bits and pieces!

Hey Crocheters! I know lots of you have crochet ideas scribbled all over the place…bits of paper, notebooks, screenshots on your phone, the back of shopping lists šŸ˜‚

So I’ve finally added these Crochet Notebooks to the website, and they’re such a lovely little addition to your crochet bits and bobs.

These made their debut at a few weeks ago and were really popular, which was lovely to see.

They’re A5 notebooks made especially for crocheters, with 11 different designs to choose from, lined pages, and sturdy covers that can survive being thrown into a project bag with yarn, hooks and snacks.

Perfect for pattern notes, yarn ideas, workshop thoughts, and all those future projects we absolutely don’t need but are definitely going to make anyway!

It’s the sort of thing that just makes crochet feel a bit calmer and more organised without taking itself too seriously.

A really lovely little treat for yourself…or such a thoughtful gift for a crochet friend.

Hey Crocheters! If you're looking for a free crochet flower pattern that’s quick, easy and actually useful...then I've got you 🧔

These little crochet flowers are one of those makes that you’ll come back to again and again…they take minutes, use up your yarn scraps, and instantly turn something simple into a proper little gift.

I’ve been using mine on birthday cards, gift tags, and even just to jazz up presents a bit…they make it look like you’ve made way more effort than you actually have (we love that šŸ˜‚).

They’re perfect if you fancy a quick crochet project, a bit of stashbusting, or just something easy to pick up when you don’t want to think too hard.

Hello Crocheters! If you enjoy a make that’s both calming and genuinely useful, you’ll like this one.

Crochet basket making that’s actually useful is always a favourite of mine, and this Jumbo Crochet Basket Kit is a really lovely one.

It works up quickly using super chunky 9mm Bobbiny cord and a 15mm hook, so you get that satisfying 'this is actually becoming something' feeling not long after you start ✨

Just one simple stitch and a few easy decreases and you’ve got a solid, soft basket in no time.

Perfect for yarn, toys, blankets, or those bits and bobs that always seem to end up in a pile somewhere šŸ‘€

I especially love the faux leather handles on this one. They really lift it and make it feel that bit more finished and high-end.

If you like crochet that’s calming, practical, and actually gets used, this is a lovely one to make.
