My gorgeous nephew turns four on Sunday. Firstly, I don’t know where the years have gone 😱
Bad Auntie Nikki wasn’t baking last year so he didn’t have a Sweet Escape cake, but after rediscovering my love of spending hours in the kitchen (and making an almighty mess of it 🙈) I thought I’d dust off my apron to help him celebrate, superhero style 💕

One of my favourite things about baking was the returning customers, the families who I’d bake for year after year. Birthdays would fly around, weddings would turn to anniversaries, baby showers, christenings.... 💕
The Rowlands family kept me on my toes, Lola’s requests were always elaborate, and her mum would message “so this year Lola would like...” 😂I’d hold my breath as I read and tried to figure out how on earth I could make a cake to please her imagination.
Here are Lola’s 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th birthday cakes, along with baby shower cupcakes to celebrate her new sister and her dad’s 40th birthday cake 🥰💕

Almost 2 years ago I stopped baking as a business, but over the last couple of weeks I have rediscovered my love of being in the kitchen all day 💕
Mainly due to my 3 boys (and husband) eating us out of house and home. So I dusted off the mixer and found I didn’t even need to look up a recipe, they are all still ingrained on my brain.
And cleaning up the absolute mess I make of the kitchen keeps me occupied too!
Lemon drizzle and marble loaf, expected to last all of 5 minutes 😂
