This is my dad. He always had a slogan - 'you've got to have a scheme '. That was how he lived his life, always coming up with another plan. He always worked for himself and created so many things from nothing. I do believe I'm my father's daughter. I, too, am a dreamer, but like him, they are dreams that become something.
When I first opened my shop, there was no plan, no finances or capital. It was built on nothing. Over the last 6 years, every penny I have earned has been ploughed back into the shop to help it become what it is today.
The shop may be small and to some non sensical and cluttered, but to most, it's a truly magical space.
We attract customers from London and further afield. I truly think that we are a destination and an attraction to Westgate.
I have been dreaming once more of expanding, and I've wanted a bigger shop for some time. I became close to bringing this dream to life recently, but sadly, it wasn't to be.
The really sad thing is I know I can do great things. Not just for me but for Westgate. My plans included bringing opportunities to add smaller pop-up shops to give the town more choices and more vibrancy to our little town.
Everything I do is for all of us...... This has always been more than another shop to me. I hope you think of it as a great addition and asset to Westgate, and I hope that one day I can bring more of my dreams to reality .
On a side note, the shop as it is is quirky and not for everyone. There are some small changes happening, including having a weekly menu outside, but we think our window displays are a nice thing, and relevant to the shop as its all stock for sale, you just have to be a bit braver and pop in to see the rest.
