Hello Frog Hollow Fans,
I wanted to give you an update about my plant-based cookery demos.
When I first came up with the idea, I was really excited about sharing my passion for plant-based cooking and helping others discover simple, delicious ways to eat more plants. It was a great idea in theory, but after looking more closely at the costs and time involved, I've realised that it simply isn't going to be financially viable for me at this stage.
Like many small business owners, I have bills to pay, and right now I need to focus my energy on work that provides a reliable income. I also need to be mindful of my health and make sure I'm using my time in the most effective way.
For those who don't know, I've recently returned to freelance chef work, something I did before setting up my catering business nearly 25 years ago. I'm now supporting caterers and food businesses on an ad hoc basis, alongside continuing to make my Supersnacks for The Naked Pantry. This flexible way of working fits much better around my daughter's school commitments, my health and my personal life. I am also the event planner for Emsworth Loves Local markets, a job I love as it allows me to be creative whilst helping small businesses thrive and fundraising for local charities.
Getting the work-life balance right has never been easy for me, and I've come to realise that sometimes saying no to one opportunity creates space for the things that matter most.
Perhaps in a few years, when life looks a little different and I no longer have school fees to think about, I may revisit the idea of cookery demos. For now, though, I need to put it on hold.
Thank you so much for all your support, encouragement and loyalty over the years. It truly means a lot to me, and I hope you'll continue to follow my journey, whether that's through my Supersnacks, freelance chef work or whatever adventure comes next.
