Hi everyone 👋🏻, it’s been a little while! I hope you’re all doing well ☺️

Please read on for a little Dainty Bakes update…

After five years of having the most amazing time running Dainty Bakes, I have recently made the difficult decision to finally close my (virtual) shop doors.

It's not a decision I have taken lightly, as I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire journey of running my own cake business, and am so proud of everything I have achieved in this time. Having the opportunity to spend five years doing something I absolutely love, whilst getting to meet so many lovely customers, fellow cake makers and suppliers has been an absolute dream come true.

Running the business alongside my regular job, as well as doing on the weekends, has been quite a handful! So although I’m feeling very sad about things coming to an end, I’m also very much looking forward to freeing up some time for other things.

I'll still be taking both local and postal orders up until Friday 14th October 2022, so if you'd like to stock up on any brownies before this time, then just let me know.

🍋 Lemon Meringue 🍋

Lemon sponge with vanilla bean buttercream and a lemon curd filling, decorated with meringue kisses, crystallised flowers and chopped pistachios.

💗 Raspberry & White Chocolate 💗

Vanilla sponge with raspberry & white chocolate buttercream and raspberry jam filling, decorated with fresh raspberries and white chocolate curls.

🍫 Chocolate & Salted Caramel 🍫

Chocolate sponge with salted caramel buttercream and a salted caramel filling, decorated with chocolate brownie pieces, a salted caramel drizzle and dark chocolate flakes.

It was whilst running a chalet on a ski season in France that I was inspired to start my own cake business, when I discovered how much I enjoyed baking the daily afternoon tea for the guests. I set-up Dainty Bakes at the start of 2018, bringing together my passion for baking with my love for the natural environment.

The name Dainty Bakes was inspired by my family surname 'Dainty', a word which also fittingly means 'pleasing to the taste' and 'of delicate beauty'.

I specialise in creating beautiful wedding and celebration cakes, which are handmade to order in my Somerset home, using only natural ingredients and delicious flavours. I work with environmental sustainability in mind and am committed to using local and seasonal produce. Over the past two years I’ve been continually looking for more ways that I can reduce waste, minimise food miles and support other small businesses and the local community. Dainty Bakes is public liability insured and is registered with Taunton Deane Borough council, achieving a 5 star Food Hygiene rating.
