Remember the Compton Florals background from my recent video? Here is the finished card!
I wanted to create a rich, classic contrast, so I started by running my cardstock through the 3D embossing folder to create that incredible, deep texture. Then, I used the matching stencils to layer deep blues and soft lilacs perfectly over the raised design. To really bring out the details, I lightly swiped metallic gold ink across the top of the patterns so they catch the light beautifully.
Instead of keeping the background whole, I cut the embossed panel into elegant vertical strips to create a unique layout. I finished it off with coordinating die-cut foliage and a simple "Have a Magical Day" sentiment right in the center.
This gorgeous set is out now as part of the new William Morris Inspired Collection by Lisa Horton Crafts!
I'd love to know, do you prefer soft pastel florals, or do you love these rich, moody tones with gold shimmer? 👇
