When the weather is determined to test every wedding supplier… you adapt! ☀️🎂🔥
Last Saturday’s wedding cake was a little different from my usual towering designs… and I can’t tell you how grateful I was for these beautiful flat-lay cakes! 🙌
Made from a classic Victoria Sponge alongside a vegan Red Velvet, these were baked in huge 15” x 12” tins (they don’t look it in photos, but they were BIG!).
Even so, the soaring temperatures meant the vegan buttercream and sponge had their own ideas about behaving! 😅 Sometimes wedding cake artistry is as much about problem-solving as it is about baking. Every cake teaches you something, and every challenge makes you better.
Despite the heat, they were delivered safely, looked beautiful on display, and most importantly… they were ready to be shared as the couple celebrated with their favourite people. ❤️ That’s always the part that matters most.
And now for the important question… 👀
Does anyone recognise that rather impressive cake knife and the shape of the cakes? It definitely isn’t your average cake slice!
