A live dessert experience should feel relaxed, generous and perfectly timed on the day.

The planning happens quietly beforehand, so your Millefoglie or giant Tiramisu can become part of the celebration - not something separate from it.

Not just because it looks beautiful.

Because Millefoglie is all about texture - crisp pastry, soft Italian cream and fresh berries, all layered together just before serving.

Make it too far ahead and the pastry softens. Still lovely, but not the same.

So yes, it’s theatrical. It’s entertaining. Guests gather round, ask questions and watch the layers build.

There’s a little theatre of course - but also conversation, curiosity and those lovely moments where guests gather round, ask questions and become part of it too.

For couples looking for an alternative wedding cake with a little more feeling, this is a rather lovely place to start.



This Millefoglie was created live at Grittenham Barn, in Kent, to cater for 100 guests.

A Millefoglie tasting at Danesfield House this morning for a lovely couple and the groom’s parents.

Crisp pastry, Italian cream, berries, and that lovely moment when it stops being “shall we have our cake as dessert?” and becomes part of how a live Millefoglie will make wedding day actually feel.

They made a proper day of it too, with lunch in the sun afterwards.

Honestly, I love that.
