This week at St Mary’s Mount Day Centre we’ve had lots of fun singing, dancing, and taking part in armchair exercises — we even enjoyed a conga!
We were also treated to more puppy therapy on Wednesday and Thursday, while Roxy enjoyed a well-deserved rest yesterday.
Nicola and Leanne kept everyone entertained with an amazing game of noodle badminton, and a few of our guests popped into the care home to meet some wonderful animals from Zoolab. Thank you to St Mary’s Mount Care Home for arranging such a lovely experience.
Finally, we would like to give a very warm welcome to our two new starters, Sarah and Linda — we’re so pleased to have you both with us 🙂

Good evening everyone,

We’ve had such a lovely time celebrating VE Day a few days early. A great deal of time, effort and care has gone into making today special, with evenings spent transforming the centre in red, white and blue and creating some beautiful displays.

In the kitchen, there’s been a huge team effort preparing a street party–style buffet, alongside fresh cream cakes, scones, and homemade desserts of jelly and blancmange. We also enjoyed a few traditional touches like shandy and ‘nosecco’.

We’ve had a fantastic afternoon singalong with the Uttoxeter U3A ukulele group. I’d like to thank them all for their continued support to the centre.

Days like this take a lot of planning behind the scenes, but seeing the smiles on our guests’ faces makes it more than worthwhile.

A massive thank you to Nicola, Ali and Caroline for everything they’ve put into today.

Today was a double celebration as we’ve also celebrated Dennis’s 86th birthday (Sunday 10th)

St Mary’s Mount Day Centre had a lovely time celebrating National Tea Day ☕🎉
A big thank you to all the staff for their hard work—Leanne and Nic did a fantastic job with the beautiful decorations, and Ali and Caz prepared a wonderful buffet that everyone enjoyed.
We also had the pleasure of celebrating Julia’s birthday this week 🎂

Today at St Mary’s Mount we celebrate Mother’s Day with love, gratitude, and remembrance. 💐

Our photos today are special ones, showing some of the wonderful mums connected to our St Mary’s Mount family. Some are still with us, and some are sadly no longer here, but each one is deeply loved, cherished, and forever remembered. Their kindness, strength, and the memories they created continue to live on in all of us.
As a dementia day centre, St Mary’s Mount truly feels like one big family. As the manager, I am incredibly proud of our amazing staff and the compassion they show every single day. The love, patience, and care they give to every one of our guests is something very special, and it’s what makes our centre such a warm and supportive place.
Today we celebrate all the mums, grandmothers, and mother figures who have touched our lives in so many ways. Thank you for the love you’ve shared and the memories you’ve given us. 🌷

Post 1 🎉 A Wonderful Week at St Mary's Mount Day Centre! 🇺🇸🎶
This week has been full of smiles, celebration, and fantastic entertainment!
🎂 We kicked things off by celebrating Ron’s birthday — a lovely day enjoyed by everyone, filled with laughter and good company. Another amazing cake by our chef Ali.
✈️ On Wednesday, our armchair travellers jetted off to the United States!
Staff dressed up for the occasion, bringing the spirit of America right into the centre. Our guests enjoyed tasting traditional American favourites, adding delicious fun to the journey.
🎵 In the afternoon, we were treated to a brilliant performance by the U3A Ukuleles.
As always, they were amazing, and our guests loved singing along and joining in with the music.
A big thank you to everyone who made this week so special — staff, entertainers, and our wonderful guests. ❤️

St Mary’s Mount Day Centre Weekly Highlights❤️ Part 1

It’s been a wonderful week here at St Mary’s Mount Day Centre!

🥞 Pancake Day Fun
We kicked things off with a lively Pancake Day celebration. Guests had a great time taking part in some joyful pancake tossing—lots of laughter and some impressive flips!

🐉 Chinese New Year Celebrations
On Wednesday, we welcomed the Chinese New Year in style. Nic and Leanne dressed up beautifully for the occasion, and everyone enjoyed a selection of favourite Chinese dishes. It was a colourful and delicious celebration.

This week at the day centre, we had plenty to celebrate!
🎉 We marked Sheila’s birthday with an amazing cake made by our chef and es**rt, Ali — a big thank-you to Ali for creating such a lovely cake.
❤️ On Wednesday, our guests enjoyed some early Valentine’s celebrations, filled with smiles and shared moments.
Looking ahead to next week:
🐉 Tuesday: Chinese New Year – we’ll be celebrating with traditional flavours of the day.
🥞 Pancake Day – expect delicious pancakes and themed treats!
We’re looking forward to another wonderful week together!
