What an exciting week in school!

Our TTRS event brought so much energy, with children dressing up and showing off their amazing maths skills. We’ve also added brand‑new monkey trapeze bars to the playground as part of our OPAL improvements — they’re already a huge hit. Class 1 had a trip to Broadway park and to the Fire Station today!
Thank‑you to all the parents who joined us for our Inspire workshops too this week!
It’s been a week full of creativity, teamwork and joyful learning.

The children proudly voted for their most inspiring message for our new school t-shirts —what a fantastic achievement!
A huge THANK YOU to the Friends of Broadway First School, and especially to Emma Manktelow, for helping bring Mrs Organ’s vision to life.
Keep an eye out for our KS2 children wearing them at sporting events—what a wonderful way to showcase their inspiration!
Dream big, everyone! ⭐

This week in nursery, we have had a jam-packed week learning about lots of important things.

To start the week, it was Mental Health Awareness Day. We read stories that focused on being kind to our friends and used the Colour Monsters to talk about our feelings and emotions.
Next, we celebrated National Nurses Day. We spoke to the children about the important role nurses have in helping people and set up a doctor and hospital role-play area so the children could enjoy pretending to be nurses and medical staff.

We finished the week by celebrating National Family Day. The children each shared something they love about their families, leading to lots of lovely conversations and smiles.

We also got to welcome our new apprentice Sophie, who is settling in very well.

What a fantastic and busy week Preschool has had!🌟
In Forest School🌳, we showed amazing perseverance and resilience as we learned to make a spark with a flint and steel - and some of us even succeeded!
In Maths, we have been exploring shapes and positions, completing fun puzzles and learning the names of different 2D shapes. We’re becoming shape experts!🟠
During Story Dough 🐛🦋, we enjoyed the story The Hungry Caterpillar, where we talked about the life cycle of a caterpillar. Then we got super creative designing our own beautiful butterflies — they were fantastic!🎨
Well done everyone, have a lovely weekend!😊

This week in Emerald, we created PowerPoints and posters to share our learning with our friends about our chosen countries. We learnt fascinating facts about Azerbaijan, including the many exciting places to visit in Baku. We explored the wildlife and biodiversity of Ukraine, discovered Budapest and its delicious restaurants and local delicacies, and learnt about the romantic city of Paris and French culture.

As part of our geography and creative work, we designed our own flags and made passports filled with facts from across the continent.

Alongside this, we enjoyed some hands-on science. We designed space capsules that would not crash back to Earth, which meant learning about friction, air resistance and, of course, gravity.

In Forest School, we developed practical outdoor skills by learning how to light fires using steel and flint, as well as how to safely make fire pits.

It has been such a lovely, engaging and fascinating week full of learning across lots of different subjects!

Diamond Class have had a fantastic week of learning! In Maths, we finished our unit on length and height, and the children impressed us with their brilliant measurement vocabulary and problem-solving skills. We also thoroughly enjoyed our workshops with Wolf Trap, where the children worked collaboratively to create shapes and movements with their bodies, showing great awareness of each other and wonderful imagination — including describing one shape as “a meteorite flying underneath a star!” In Science, we investigated whether the oldest child has the longest forearm by carefully measuring and recording our data, making sure our test was fair by always measuring from 0. In PE, we have been preparing for Sports Day by exploring a range of activities and equipment. Well done, everyone!

Classes 1 and 2 have had an incredible week so far with Wolf Trap, an arts‑education company from the USA. Every day they’ve led creative workshops using dance and movement to explore new curriculum ideas - and the children have amazed us with their imagination and expression.
A huge thank‑you to the Northrop Grumman Foundation for fully sponsoring this experience and bringing Miss Anne and Miss Akua all the way from America.
Want to join the fun? Come along today after school (3.20–4.20pm) in the hall - families welcome!

We’re home after a great few days on residential.

Before we hopped on the coach home, we all had a go on the zip wire and quad pole.

The children did a fantastic job at demonstrating three key values. The values were, independence, resilience and pride. Well done to all!

See you all tomorrow ready to practise our residential assembly so that it is ready to share on Friday.
