🚨 MELLIE MAKES & BAKES IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED! 🚨
That’s my final cake delivered, the last box is out the door and I am officially hanging up the apron for a little while! 🥹🎂💕
From now until the big day, it’s WEDDING PREP, PANIC & COUNTDOWN MODE only! 💍👰🏻‍♀️✨
A HUGE thank you to every single person who has supported my little baking business, placed an order, shared a post, recommended me or simply cheered me on. It means more than you know. 🥹🫶🏼
Now… 18 DAYS TO GO!!! 😭💍🥂
Time to swap buttercream for bridal prep, cake boxes for wedding boxes and my kitchen for the aisle! 😂💕
Mellie Makes & Bakes will be back after the wedding! 🎂✨

Have you EVER seen a nicer cake?! 😍🍒🎀
Honestly, I am OBSESSED with this one! 🥹💕 The pink, the cherries, the glitter, the little bows, the cupcakes… it’s giving Strawberry Shortcake meets 13th birthday princess and I am absolutely here for it! 🍓✨
A whole box of matching cupcakes AND that gorgeous heart-shaped cake?! 😭💗 Whoever made this understood the assignment perfectly 😏.
13 has never looked so sweet! 🎂🍒💖✨

When the client sends you pics and suddenly you’re staring at your own cake like a proud mother 😂🥹🎂
Saturday’s beauty looking absolutely gorgeous all set up! 🤍✨
I LOVE seeing my cakes once they leave the kitchen. There’s something about seeing them surrounded by the decorations, candles and all the birthday/celebration magic that makes all those hours of baking, filling, icing and decorating completely worth it.
Thank you so much to Declan for sending me these gorgeous photos! 🥰
Another one out in the wild doing what she was born to do… look pretty and get eaten. 😂🎂

✨ TWO CAKES. TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT VIBES. ✨

And I’m obsessed with BOTH. 😍🎂

One is giving sweet, playful and dreamy with the cutest little teddy, baby blue, latte, pearls and gold ✨🧸

The other is giving romantic, elegant and timeless with delicate piping, satin bows and the prettiest glittery “engaged” detail 🤍🎀

This is exactly why I love making bespoke cakes. You give me the occasion, the colours and the vision… and I get to turn it into CAKE. 🥹💕

Which one is your favourite? 👀👇

Perfect for those last-minute reveals without having to compromise on the cake. 🥹✨

BLACK FONDANT: 1. MELLIE: 0. 🖤😂

I have officially been humbled.

I can make buttercream behave. I can pipe. I can scrape. I can decorate. I can turn a pile of cake ingredients into something vaguely resembling a professional cake.

But black fondant?

Black fondant looked me directly in the eyes and said, “Not today, babe.” 😭

Every crease became a feature.
Every fingerprint became a permanent historical record.
Every slightly wonky bit suddenly had its own postcode. 😂

I have the utmost respect for anyone who can get fondant smooth, sharp and flawless because I genuinely don't know how you lot do it.

Tonight, I have accepted defeat.

Finley's cake is DONE. 🎂💚🎮
He'll see Geometry Dash.

I'll see every single tiny imperfection because I'm a baker and apparently we're cursed with that particular superpower. 😂

Buttercream, I apologise for ever taking you for granted. I promise I'll never leave you again. 🧁❤️
