February has its own quiet mood… soft light, slow mornings, and the kind of weather that invites you to pause 🤍
That’s why I love scones — made in advance, resting in the freezer, ready for days like these.
When a friend is on the way, they go into the oven and the aroma of cinnamon begins to warm the kitchen.
Lightly whipped vanilla cream, homemade blackcurrant jam — just tart enough to balance the sweetness and gently remind us… it is still only February.
Only snowdrops are waking.
There is no rush.
We can sweeten our days, yes — but we are not in full bloom yet.
This is the season of preparation, of slowing down, of allowing flavours to meet quietly before the abundance arrives.
Until then, let’s enjoy this gentle in-between — cosy moments, warm tea, and the promise of sweeter days to come.
