Now the kids are back at school for the final term before the summer holidays, does anyone else feel like things are getting busier?

We had such a fun time at the Tonbridge Food and Drink Festival Festival today – there was so much choice! 😍🍴

From Thai 🇹🇭 to Greek 🇬🇷, Jamaican 🇯🇲, Afghan 🇦🇫, Turkish 🇹🇷 and everything in between (including plenty of bakery treats 🥐🍰), there really was something for everyone.

My daughter and husband enjoyed Thai chow mein noodles, while my son tried a Korean corn dog. I opted for a delicious Greek gyros and a ‘Garden Party’ cocktail 🍸.

Of course, we couldn’t leave without dessert and a few bakery goodies to enjoy during the week ahead from Bread A Rise, Loaf Story and The Chimney Cake House. 🥖🧁

If you haven’t been yet, today is the last day to visit! The festival is at Tonbridge Castle and is open until 6pm.

Wow, what an incredible day out we had yesterday at Drusillas Park in East Sussex! I can’t get over how much there was to see and do - from the interactive zoo with challenges and walkways to see the sloths and Lorys 🦥🦜, to the splash park 💦, an amazing adventure playground 🛝, train ride around the zoo 🚂, rides 🎢 and a maze it was a day out the whole family could enjoy!

Originally a trip we were due to go on last August, it was postponed due to the park not having water at the time and I’m so glad we chose yesterday to visit! ☀️😊

Having taken just over an hour to get there, we first entered through the marmoset enclosure 🐒 and were able to see (and smell) other similar animals before heading out to see the meerkats 🐾, penguins 🐧, red pandas 🦊 and then we entered the jungle walkway to view the sloths 🦥, bats 🦇 and a few white/grey marmosets 🐒. It was such an incredible experience seeing the sloths up close and the way they move is just mesmerising!

Once out of the jungle walkway we spotted flamingos 🦩, monkeys 🐒 (including a baby one ), giant anteaters and more, all while completing challenges on route like how long can you stand on one leg? How loud can you shout? And how high can you climb?

After seeing the animals and grabbing a bite to eat on our way round, we decided to head to the adventure playground 🛝 & splash park 💦 where the kids let off some much needed energy. I also managed to walk through a few water jets!

After drying off we headed for the train ride 🚂, theme park rides - my daughter & I ventured onto the Cheetah Ride 🎢, then we all tried the cars 🚗 and I took the children on the rainforest-style carousel 🎠 while taking a break in between to complete the maze.

We ended our day with a look in the gift shop and my personal favourite drink in this weather - an iced caramel Frappuccino

A truly fantastic family day out from start to finish ❤️

I’d highly recommend a trip here if you haven’t been before (or for a while). There really is something for everyone, it felt very inclusive, and all of the staff we met throughout the day were so friendly and welcoming 😊. We’ll definitely be back at some point!

A fantastic FREE family fun day is taking place in Sevenoaks this Saturday to support beautiful little Leni and her family. 💛

Does anyone else keep a running list of family trips out & activities? 😊
It’s honestly so handy when you can’t think of where to go — especially during the school holidays!

Some places are so good that even though we’ve already been, they’re definitely worth revisiting too 😊

How I’m surviving in this heat ☀️🥵

🧋 Iced coffee – I absolutely adore iced coffee at this time of year! Here are my go-to’s at the moment that you can find in Aldi, Lidl, or other leading supermarkets.

💧 Staying hydrated – and it doesn’t always have to be water! I often find it easier to fill up a sports flask and carry it around the house with me rather than keep going backwards and forwards to the kitchen with a glass. I like Ion8 bottles!

🧺 Taking things step by step – yes, we know the jobs around the house need doing, but don’t try and do everything at once. Do make the most of this beautiful weather for drying your laundry though… maybe even those bigger items like blankets you’ve been putting off washing!

🌬️ Investing in a good fan – my son’s room and our bedroom are at the front of the house, so they get the hottest at this time of year. The other day we ordered a new fan from Amazon and the difference is amazing! I’ll try and link it later once my husband’s up. Honestly though, even small USB fans are affordable and such a game changer.

🤎 Keeping my hair up and off my face – I use claw clips a lot and find they make my hair look neater, but they’re definitely even more my go-to at this time of year… especially as a brunette!

🚿 And when it comes to your usual shower, remember it doesn’t have to be at your normal temperature (although you also don’t need to feel like you’re taking part in the ice bucket challenge again 😂). Why not treat yourself to some fancy bath and shower products too? I’m loving the Daisy range I found in Superdrug recently!
