Closing down sale

After one year of passionate baking, trying out new things, meeting lovely people and getting amazing feedback it’s time to hang up the apron. I will be returning to the real world that unfortunately isn’t all sprinkles and vanilla sugar, but is waiting for me with a brand new full time job opportunity that I am most excited about.

I have loads of Christmas fair surplus stock, price reduced and ready to go.

Pick up today:

- Bronuts (half brownie, half donut) for £1 each *must eat this weekend*

- Vanilla shortbread biscuits that melt in the mouth £1.50 a bag

- Mini Stollen bites with sultanas and marzipan £1.50 a bag

- Gingerbread men, stars, or raindeers. Big hit the kids, 50p each

- German Christmas cookie selection box with different variety and flavours £3.50

- Tiny Houses filled with roasted and candied whole almonds, the taste of German Christmas markets, for 50p each

Long time no bake! I went to Germany and could have spent hours in the cake decoration aisles of the local supermarkets. Of course I couldn’t return empty handed, and amongst other bits and bobs some adorable mini Guglhupf cake tins found their way into my suitcase.

I am still in the testing phase, but these marble and gingerbread mini Guglhupf already look promising.

I had Kaffee and Kuchen with a German friend today and managed to surprise her with this classic.

Bienenstich is one of the most popular German cakes and translates to “bee sting”

No bees or bakers were hurt in the making of this sweet yeast dough, filled with vanilla custard, topped with a crust of caramelised almonds.

The origin of its name is said to go back to the 15th century when two bakers threw bees nests at attackers and successfully scared them away from their town. In celebration they came up with this cake 🐝
