Cindy Alderman - Cake Design Custom made cakes. Specialising in hand crafted sugar flowers I began my cake journey in an unconventional way.

In November 2013 I entered the largest cake decoration competition in the country. Being what I considered a complete novice I wanted to see just what I could achieve. I was completely overwhelmed to win my first Gold Award I entered again 6 months later to make sure it wasn't a fluke, I won my Second Gold Award. Since then I have accumulated 7 Gold Awards and 3 Silver. I decided along the way th

Notice: I had been using a platform called Bake Diary. It was brilliant. It kept track of my baking world for the past 5 years.
I receive an email from Bake Diary, but unfortunately for me it went into my spam/junk folder. When I signed in on the Monday morning (June 2nd) I discovered that it had closed down on May 31st. From my understanding it gave very little notice and has been disruptive to thousands of users. Thankfully I didn’t rely upon it for everything. I have managed to recreate a calendar from emails and texts etc. If you have heard from me you know I have all your information regarding your order updated. Sadly there maybe some that I haven’t been able to reach.
I am asking if anyone who has a date saved or placed an enquiry that hasn’t received an email from me, could you please email me or text me

It’s a silver 🥈🍾🎉 to end my competitive days upon. I have been blessed with 7 Gold and 5 Silver awards overall in the cake international competitions in the past 8 years. I will now look to take the sharing of my love of creating flowers to another level to share. New medium? 🤔 Teaching? 🤔 Who knows, but I’ll still be here to create your favourite cakes with maybe a flower or two! Thanks for all your kind words over the years and hope you will continue seeing my work.

Still awaiting for results to be posted. This will be my last competition. Sadly this year I found the show a little lack-lustre. But my cake did not lack any sparkle. It doesn’t show up on photos, but I have included a video of one of the roses that was put onto the cake. The glitter is hand made with gelatine. Every rose, petal and leaf was edged with the glitter to give it a frosty sparkle. Gelatine was painted into sheets and cut into rough squares and twisted into twinkly icy ruffles.

Making your own statement. The same cake tiers were used in each of these 4 cakes. By using different ways of stacking either with or without separators or different separators you can adjust the look of your cake. Even adding or removing trailing foliage can make a difference.
