We may be sunning ourselves in this glorious weather, but apparently we still can’t completely switch off from baking 😂

The website is now RESTOCKED for our next postal drop!

Just a little reminder that we’re CLOSED for 2 weeks.

We’re taking the final weeks of the summer holidays off for some much-needed R&R and family time, so The Bake Shed will remain closed while we’re away.

BUT… the website will be restocked this Wednesday!
You’ll be able to get your September orders in ready for delivery on 11th/12th September 📦

Then we’ll be back behind the stall at Thrapston Farmers Market with plenty of fresh bakes.

For now, we’re making the most of the last bit of summer before normal Bakeworks busy life resumes.

I'll let you into a little secret... I'm not the biggest rocky road fan, but this one is completely different.

White chocolate rocky road with a layer of conserve running through it, giving it that sharp l, fruity contract that cuts through the sweetness beautifully.

The final egg count was… 316! 🥚

That’s over £75 worth of free-range eggs used in just ONE week. And that’s only the eggs!

We always make sure we offer a good vegan range too, so plenty of the bakes made last week didn’t contain any eggs at all and can be found at our stockists.

Although 316 is a reasonably large number, some of you appeared to think we had secretly opened a chicken farm, with guesses as high as 999! To be fair, the toddler would absolutely love that 😂 but maybe not the cat.

The closest guess was from Emma Jayne Barrie with 324, congratulations! You’ve won three Bakeworks bakes of your choice. Pop us a message to arrange your prize.

😭 NO BAKE SHED TODAY

I’m afraid there will be no Bake Shed opening today.

In all honesty, this week has been super tough. Wholesale has completely taken over as we’ve been trying to make sure all of our stockists have enough Bakeworks treats to see them through while we’re away and the heat this week has played a huge part too. 🥵

There are only so many hours in the day, and unfortunately there just hasn’t been any time left for the additional baking needed to stock the Shed.

I’m really sorry if you were planning to pop down today. I hate letting people down, but after surviving on around 4 hours’ sleep a night this week, I’ve had to remind myself that I can’t keep trying to squeeze everything in.

There’s still more stockist baking to finish before we go away, so something had to give and unfortunately this weekend, it has to be the Shed. 😭

Same but different 😂

When a photographer orders a cake for their son’s birthday…

And THIS is exactly why most of my celebration cakes never make it to the grid. I promise they leave the kitchen looking lovely… I’m just absolutely terrible at proving it.

I’ll stick to the baking and leave the photography to the professionals.

Also, if you’ve ever had a cake from me, I love to see your photos, so do send them over. (I will never use photos of children without permission) they always look so much better in their proper party setting than they do on my kitchen side!

And there’s a very good chance your photo-taking skills are better than mine too 😂

🥚 132 EGGS IN 4 HOURS… + a sneaky little competition..

Pre-holiday baking mode is officially ON.

This week is a big one at Bakeworks as I work my way through a slightly ridiculous baking list, making sure all of our stockists have plenty of bakes before we disappear for two weeks.

Yesterday was the first proper big baking session and in just FOUR HOURS I somehow got through 132 eggs. 😳

And looking at what I've still got left to make this week… that number is going to get considerably more ridiculous.

So now I'm keeping count.

And I thought we might as well make a little competition out of it…

FRESH, WARM CINNAMON ROLLS THIS SATURDAY - PRE-ORDER ONLY! 🥐

This Saturday is going to look a little different in the Bake Shed, as it’s our last one before we head off in the campervan for a couple of weeks!

We’ll be open Saturday from 10am, with fresh, warm cinnamon rolls available by pre-order only, plus a few other bakes in the shed on a first come, first served basis.

To pre-order your cinnamon rolls, email [email protected] with how many you’d like. No limits and absolutely no judgement. 😂

Your rolls will be bagged up with your name on, ready to collect from the shed.

Pre-orders are for cinnamon rolls only. Everything else is a free-for-all on the day.

Then that’s it for a little while! The Bake Shed won’t reopen until 12th September 😱

We will, however, be back at Thrapston Market on 5th September.

A little message to say please bear with me.

Lots of messages and cake enquiries are coming in at the moment.
I can see them, and I promise I’m not ignoring anyone, I just haven’t had the chance to sit down and reply properly yet.

With just under two weeks until our break, we’re currently working at maximum capacity to keep our stockists stocked, the Bake Shed full and providing more bespoke bakes.

🎂 For anyone enquiring about bespoke cakes:

• September is nearly full, with only a handful of dates remaining
• October still has plenty of availability
• November is completely full, and I’m unable to accept any further bespoke orders. If we’ve already discussed your order, you are pencilled in
• December is currently fairly quiet, with good availability

I’ll work through all outstanding messages as soon as I can. Thank you so much for your patience; and for keeping me so so busy!

If you love a surprise, we'll hand-pick a delicious selection of our freshly baked gluten-free & dairy-free treats for you.

Choose from:
• 4 bakes – £12.95
• 6 bakes – £18.95

Every box is different and could include a mixture of brownies, blondies, cookie sandwiches, traybakes and more.

Have a favourite or something you'd rather avoid? Leave us a note at checkout and we'll do our best to accommodate where possible (although we can't guarantee specific bakes).

📦 Freshly baked on Wednesday and posted on Thursday.
