All money raised goes to support a variety of projects at The Commonweal School. The event is organised by the Commonweal PTA, a registered charity. In 2013 109 runners ran the race, which adheres to UKA rules. In 2020 we anticipate a sell-out race with 350 runners of all abilities. The course starts and finishes on the school field. From the back of the school the race passes through Roman Cresce
nt and Field Rise to join the Old Town Railway Path and then heads across the canal bridge near Rushy Platt before looping back along the link road past the Waitrose supermarket towards Wichelstowe. The course weaves its way around the lakes and alongside the new stretch of canal in Wichelstowe before a short climb up to the railway path and returning back to the finish line in the schoolโs playing field via footpaths between Field Rise and Roman Crescent. There are showers and changing facilities available at the school, along with refreshments including homemade cakes and bacon sandwiches! Entry is open to everyone over the age of 15. We welcome entries from runners with buggies, wheelchairs and guided runners, but due to the quality of the running surfaces along certain stretches of the route and steep steps, the race is challenging and we recommend you run the route first before entering. Full entry price details can be found on our website. Race numbers must be collected from the race HQ at Commonweal School on the day.
