To my lovely customers, I’ve got mixed emotions writing this; with a nervous but excited heart, It’s time to let you know that WhatLeilaBakes’s Welsh chapter is coming to a close.
Life has taken an exciting turn and it’s time for my little family (and bakery) to give English soil another go! Returning closer to my roots of Bristol, I’ll be moving and reopening WLB on the other side of the bridge (Stroud to be precise!).
Cardiff/Newport based weddings will still be totally doable but Swansea/gower etc is now out of my delivery radius. Bristol and a lot of the cotswolds is now on my list 💜
I’m lucky enough to have a customer base dotted all around the country from my online postal options, so I’ll be focussing on these while I get things back up and running in a new location after my maternity leave.
I’m so, so grateful to everyone who’s ordered from me over the years, whether that’s been in Brighton, Cardiff or Swansea; you’ve given me the confidence to know I can run this business from wherever I live, and if I can make this business work from a very small town in the Welsh valley’s, I can certainly do it somewhere else.
Starting again and building a new customer base is always nerve wracking, but I reckon I’ll be alright 😎.
I’ve met so many lovely people in my Welsh chapter, from regulars who have become friends to wedding suppliers and other bakers that I look forward to seeing whenever we cross paths. Thank you for welcoming me so beautifully, I hope I’m received in the same way back on my home turf!
