Come and spend a relaxed autumn afternoon decorating cake with me šŸ‚

Autumn with Olive & Mac is my most in-depth cake decorating workshop yet. Weā€™ll work with a taller, three-layer cake and explore blending shades of buttercream to create a beautiful ombrĆ© finish, decorative piping, fondant techniques and plenty of autumn details - including pumpkins, flowers, leaves and vines.

Iā€™ll also guide you through how to place and layer your decorations so your finished design feels beautifully balanced and considered.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities, whether youā€™re completely new to cake decorating or would simply love to develop your skills. Come along on your own or make an afternoon of it with friends - youā€™ll receive plenty of friendly guidance throughout.

Youā€™ll leave with new skills, my Olive & Mac buttercream recipe and your own fully decorated cake to take home and feel very proud of šŸ¤

A new home for Olive & Mac šŸ¤

Iā€™m so excited to finally share my new website with you.

A place that brings everything Olive & Mac together - from bespoke wedding and celebration cakes, to cake decorating workshops and a little more of the story behind it all.

You can explore my bespoke wedding and celebration cakes and find out more about how we can create something completely individual for you.

And, for the first time, you can now browse and book my upcoming cake decorating workshops online too.

I really wanted the website to feel like stepping into the world of Olive & Mac - modern romance, statement florals, cool celebration cakes and all the little details that make each design individual - and Iā€™m so happy to finally have somewhere that brings it all together.

A huge thank you to The Square Penny - Brand & Website Design for taking everything in my head and turning it into such a beautiful online home for Olive & Mac. šŸ¤

How do you fit all of a 10-year-oldā€™s favourite things onto one birthday cakeā€¦ without it looking like all of his favourite things have just been thrown at it? šŸ’™

For Joshuaā€™s 10th birthday, the brief included Minecraft, football, chocolate, sweetsā€¦ and quite a few other things too! We narrowed it down to his absolute favourites and I sketched out a design that would bring everything together into one cohesive celebration cake.

For the football scene, I chose an image and had it printed onto edible icing, then worked into and around it with colour, royal icing and texture so that the image blended into the cake rather than simply sitting on top. Iā€™ll be sharing a reel soon showing exactly how I created it. šŸ‘€

Then came the fun bits - Minecraft details, sweets and plenty of chocolate chunks tucked amongst them. šŸ«

And this one came with an extra challengeā€¦ my kitchen reached 38Ā°C while I was decorating it! Strong ganache and Couture Sugarpaste were definitely my friends that day. šŸ˜…

I love creating birthday and celebration cakes that are completely personal to the person theyā€™re for, taking all those little details and turning them into one design that tells their story.

Modern romance, in wedding cake form. šŸ¤

Soft blush pink, delicate floral texture, layers of sugarpaste creating the gentlest ruffle effect, and wispy cosmos - all brought together in one romantic four-tier wedding cake.

I wanted this cake to feel feminine and a little whimsical, while still keeping the clean, modern finish I love.

And with just one little change, this same cake took on a slightly different feelā€¦ more on that another day. šŸ‘€

A beach day, filled with all of Lisaā€™s favourite thingsā€¦ šŸ–ļøšŸ¤

My brief was simple: create a bespoke birthday cake that captured everything Lisa loves about a day by the sea. From the beach path and colourful parasol to the picnic, ice cream, kite and seaside signpost, every little detail was chosen especially for her.

The picnic was a must have (apparently her favourite part of any beach day!)ā€¦ and I even managed to sneak a doughnut onto the cake too if you can spot it! šŸ©šŸ‘€

Wishing you the happiest of birthdays, Lisa. I hope your cake made your celebration even more special. šŸ¤

(And yesā€¦ this one travelled all the way to Staffordshire with me - a gentle four-hour road trip to deliver it safely! šŸš—)
