Brace yourselves, Burton... Poppy Lane Bakery has a set of keys and we aren’t afraid to use them! 🔑🎂

The lease is officially signed. The keys are ours after the Bank Holiday. And yes, I am currently alternating between hyperventilating into a flour sack and doing a victory dance 😆

Three years ago, I sat at my desk thinking, “Hey, maybe I’ll bake a couple of cakes a week. It’ll be cute. A nice little hobby.” Fast forward to today: we are baking hundreds of cakes a week, driving hundreds of miles to deliver them, and I’ve just committed to 1,000 square feet of industrial bakery space. How did we get here? (Mostly sweat, tears, an unhealthy amount of caffeine, and solid hard graft, if we're being honest).

I’ve already cried 😪 multiple times, and let’s be real, the floodgates will open again when we unlock that door next week. But this is the official start of a massive new chapter, and we are coming for you, Burton! 🚚✨

If you have a crazy dream or a wild business idea, this is your sign to stop talking yourself out of it. If someone who started at a tiny desk can end up with a massive commercial unit, you can absolutely do it too. Just prepare to sacrifice your sleep schedule 😆

Thank you all for all the support, sharing our posts, and keeping us sane enough to reach this milestone.

**A Little Update ❤️**

Unfortunately, we won’t be attending Swarkestone this weekend, which we’re honestly a little gutted about! We’ll be back there in October and November for the winter markets, though, so we’re already looking forward to seeing you all then. 🥰

This weekend, we’re taking some much-needed time to slow down, spend some quality time with my boys and, hopefully, catch up on some sleep! Those 4.30am starts are definitely starting to take their toll now… 😴😂

It’s been a really tough week, both mentally and physically. It’s easy to think that we’re “just baking a few cakes”, but the reality is that we’re baking hundreds every week and driving hundreds of miles too. There’s so much more that goes on behind the scenes, and sometimes it catches up with you!

On a positive note, our new lease is now in motion and we should hopefully be signing very soon! 🤞❤️ That brings lots of excitement, but also plenty to organise and get our heads around, so it’s going to be a busy few weeks ahead.

For now, we’re going to take a little breather, recharge and enjoy some precious family time. ❤️
