As summer ends we enter hop picking season, and with it, green hop beers 🍻

We have been collecting some hops and brewed our first green hop beer of the season. All locally grown too! Check out Douglas Leo’s in Gateshead (photo 1) and Pottery Tableware Classes hops in Hebburn (photo 2). We needed a few hands to pick these (and paws)and Sally was willing to help.
Back in the brewery separating the flowers from the stalks and leaves (photos 4 and 5) Over 6kg have gone to brew our first green hop of season 2026.

Keep and eye out for it when it comes out at the end of October 😋

This year we didn’t get round to organising a Birthday Bash but this weekend you’ll be able to enjoy a few Wear Beers at the Ship Isis.

We’ll be there on Saturday if you want to pop round to say hi 😊 Brewing during the day, celebratory pints in the evening 😎

🚨Job Alert🚨

As we mark our 3rd anniversary, we are looking for someone to join us in our adventure of building Wear Beer.

About the role:
This position will initially be part time. Hours to be agreed.
We are looking for someone to help us with sales and deliveries sides of things, although there will also be opportunities for getting involved in the production too if you would like to.

The sales will involved getting in touch with pubs to expand the reach of Wear Beer and deliveries of cask, kegs and bottles.

Another side of the sales will be attending local monthly markets for which weekend availability is essential.

About you:

- No prior experience in sales required but beneficial.
- Driving licence required.
- Being comfortable moving around cask and kegs which can be quite heavy!
- Weekend availability.
- Enthusiastic about beer

What we can offer:
- A part from your salary (£13.5/h) (hours to be agreed)
- Commission on sales
- Training in brewing production

🎈New Beer coming out🎈

As we mark our third anniversary we are bringing out our annual Birthday Pale 4.1% to celebrate 🥳This time we have made a hazy version with Rakau, Mosaic and Athanum hops😋 and will soon be available in pubs.

Sadly this year we haven’t been able to organise our annual birthday bash but hopefully next year! However we will have our Birthday pale in bottle available soon. Head over to our website to get some and celebrate with us, you can find it in the One Off section 😉

We’ll be taking a few of our beers on cask and keg.

We our all set for our second day at Durham County Show with a selection of bottles for take away.
Making its first appearance in bottle since the Sunderland Food Fest is our new 4.7% Lager, and also the last 7 bottles of Imperial Stout 😱 but no need to panick! We have another batch on the go! 🥳

Our Hazy Pale has gone and been replaced with our 4.4% Bitter!
Still chance to have a try of our new lager 4.7% and Summer Blonde 4.2%. Along with our IPA 5.1% and the last pints of Imperial Stout 9%
