LIFE OUTSIDE

Hope everyone is well on this wet Saturday morning. I'm just back from deliveries, and about to get my bake on.

This year, in-between cake, I've been doing a spot of gardening. I may have to rethink as not everything has worked out, and maybe companion planting is not the way to go.

About two months back I put in a butternut squash and a couple of pumpkins. They just sat for weeks with no movement then, suddenly, growth explosion. Fast forward to today, we have lots of flowers and leaves, one huge fruit currently the size of a small baby, and a triffid in the tree which is rapidly advancing.🫢😂🤣 May need help!!!

Busy week again with cake, peppered with medical appointments, life, and more. Definitely never a dull moment.

Huge gluten free chocolate cake in the fridge. 8 inch diameter and 9 inches tall. Doesn't look like much, but smells divine.

Any thoughts on decoration? How would you transform it? Would love to hear your ideas.

Absolutely loved creating these delicious gluten free cupcakes and Jelly Cat toppers, together with a seven inch two layer Jelly Cat cake. Hand crafted fondant candle. Strawberries were given separately, to place on top, so as not to compromise the cake.

Happy birthday to Evie, hope you loved your cakes as much as I did.

What happened to that huge cake? Well, thanks to our taste tester for his muscle, because I could barely lift it! We delivered it to The Fox in Stourton.
Here it is in all its glory, along with gluten free, and egg and dairy free cupcakes too. Created for a very special birthday.
80 years young is definitely to be celebrated as every day is a bonus and every year is a blessing

Two very large cakes in the fridge awaiting final smooth coat before addition of fondant covering. Sooo heavy, 10 inch 3 layer strawberry and vanilla. 5 layer 8inch luscious lemon. Will share final finish tomorrow.

I've been absent on here recently as taken time out with my taste tester, aka my husband. Not been anywhere, just attempting to clear out sheds and loft - both still ongoing.

Very grateful to customers for keeping me busy and trusting me to create cakes and more for their events.

First free Saturday in a while as all cake creations have left the building. So, what's a girl to do? Read, garden, shop? Oh no, none of the above, decided to clean the oven! Of course then you need to clean under the cupboards too. I feel a deep clean coming on!!

Right, off to clean some more, and to check the triffid growing in the garden. Very excited to taste the produce once ripened.

Colin's regular appeal; cash is king for so many people, but we do rely on a supply of change, and now the post office has gone, and our usual sources are on holiday, we do need your money. Colin's pot of coins to fill the float each morning is sadly depleted, so please bring us your change - any denomination gratefully accepted and exchanged for nice notes.
Anything up to £40 is fine, we'll have that in the till, any more please drop us a message so Colin can arrange the notes for you to collect. No upper limit.
