Shop and Business Update

We wanted to share a quick update and apologise for the delay in reopening. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been in ongoing meetings to discuss the future of the shop and business, which will bring some exciting changes to how we operate.

As part of this, the business will be evolving and splitting into different areas — something we’re really looking forward to sharing with you soon.

Unfortunately, by the time we concluded these discussions, the builders had already moved on to other projects. We are now waiting for them to return, and we’re hopeful that refurbishment work will begin next week.

We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

A New Year, A Fresh Chapter

As we step into the new year, I wanted to take a moment to update you all properly.

After a few challenging months, I’m grateful to share that things have now settled down on the family front. This has enabled me to start planning the next chapter for the business.

We will be embarking on some exciting refurbishments to our grab-and-go shop this month, while also preparing behind the scenes to start taking orders for event catering for the year ahead. There will be some major changes and improvements to the business, and I promise to keep you fully informed every step of the way.

The refurbishment period is expected to take around 4–6 weeks, after which we plan to reopen our doors to the public. All being well, this should be around March 2026.

I would also like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to every single customer, supporter, and friend who has checked in, sent messages, and wished both me and the business well during this time.
Your kindness, patience, and encouragement have truly meant more than I can put into words.

Seasons Greetings and best wishes to all.

As the year draws to a close, I wanted to reach out personally to say thank you to every single one of you who has supported The Fine Food Parlour over the years.

Many of you may have wondered where we have been over recent months. Since August, this year has brought some unexpected and challenging family circumstances that required my full attention and meant I had to step back and temporarily close the shop.

It’s been a difficult season, but also one that has reminded me just how important family, community and kindness truly are.

I’m incredibly grateful for your patience, your messages, and the continued goodwill I’ve felt from our lovely customers — even during my absence. It has meant more to me than I can put into words.

As we look ahead, I’m doing so with renewed hope and positivity. I’m excited about what 2026 holds and I’m looking forward to reconnecting, rebuilding, and sharing good food with you again in the future.

Hopefully, long haul flights to visit elderly parents abroad will become few and far between for me in 2026.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year. Thank you for being part of this journey — I truly couldn’t do it without you.

Our Oldswinford Shop Update

Hi All,

We would like to apologise for the long closure of the shop over the past few months. Although the shop is closed annually in the summer due to extreme heat and limited ventilation, we usually resume by the end of August.

This year however, the manager also had to travel abroad to help care for her elderly parents who had suddenly become seriously ill. Hence, the shop was shut for longer.

We would like to say a big thank you to all those who have emailed, messaged or called to check on us. Thanks for all your well wishes. This is a truly wonderful community.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are working on getting things back on track and will share updates soon.

The Great Summer Melt is Here! ☀️🔥

As much as we love serving you, our ancient Oldswinford shop turns into a literal oven when the sun shows up early (thanks, June). With inside temps hitting over 220°C, (with commercial ovens) we’ve decided to hit pause on food service for a few weeks until it cools down a bit — for the sake of our sanity and safety.

We might open Fridays and Saturdays if the weather behaves. Stay tuned.

Event catering? Still on! We sneak around the sun using cooler mornings, evenings, and our clients’ roomier (and breezier) venues.
