I’m making some big decisions about my caking going forward and need to let you know.

With the rising price of ingredients and power, I will be looking to raise my prices a fair amount from November. I’m also concerned about the expected power outages, and the stress that’s likely to give me re baking / storing chilled ingredients, (I work with people with great experience of the energy market who definitely foresee this in the next year), so having to think deeply on this.

Please do get in touch asap about any celebrations you have in the next year, for which you’d love a creation. Everyone is going to be tight for spending pennies too I know, so the sooner we might discuss options/ pricing etc the better.

Please do note that my starting cake prices will be from £80 and starting topper prices will be from £30.
I also can offer edible prints from £10 for A4 (inc editing).

I know this will price many out of ordering for the future but I’m aiming to at least justify continuing (by achieving at least half the minimum wage for my time) a hobby I love, without it becoming a point of stress 🙂

A bestie request something rather bloomin fabulous for her 40th creation. Wafer paper wired feathers/flames is another new skill acquired for 2022 and has peeked my curiosity as to how else I might be able to use wafer paper.
Black buttercream was also another skill acquired !

I’ve never previously had a request for the exact same creation so close together but my geode / agate cake obviously caught some eyes.
Agate made from various stages of melting and colouring foxes glacier mints. New skill downloaded !

Another flip top cake - I love the flat edges these give me for designs. I had a lightbulb thought on the board embossing too. I like the look of a patterned iced board , rather than just a blank one, and so pulled on my creative brain for this one.

I had the absolute honour of creating a retirement cake for for a friends colleague this weekend. I hope they had a wonderful celebration and there weren’t too many hangovers to nurse the next morning instead of patients !
