📣 Carers’ Rights Day Workshops at the LiveWell Hub 📣

Carers’ Rights Day is all about recognising the incredible contribution of unpaid carers and making sure they have access to the information, advice and support available to them.

To mark the occasion, the Stockton Adult Carers Support team is hosting a series of FREE workshops at the LiveWell Hub, Thornaby, on Thursday 19 November 2026.

Whether you're looking for practical advice, information about local services, or simply an opportunity to connect with others in a similar situation, you're welcome to join us. Attend a single workshop or stay for the full programme.

Workshop Programme:
🔹 10:30am – Welcome
🔹 11am – Choose one of the following: The Herbert Protocol (delivered by Cleveland Police) or Safeguarding: Understanding Vicarious Trauma
☕ 12pm to 12:45pm – free refreshments and cakes
🔹 12:45pm – Choose one of the following: One Call or Dementia Friends
🔹 1:45pm – Close

These sessions are designed to help carers:
✅ Understand their rights
✅ Build confidence in accessing support
✅ Gain valuable knowledge and practical advice
✅ Connect with local services and other carers

⚠ The Met Office has issued a Yellow Warning of Wind for the North East England.

There has been a Yellow Wind Alert issued by the MET office for the North East, in effect between 18:00 (UTC+1) on Saturday 24 October 2026 and 21:00 (UTC) on Sunday 25 October 2026

Storm Boelo bringing a very windy spell this weekend with some disruption likely across parts of northern UK.

What to expect
- Injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible
- Some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen
- Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible
- Some roads and bridges may close
- Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
- Injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties

🎶 What an amazing afternoon at Happy Hippy Shake! 💃

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon filled with fun, friendship and fantastic music. The dance floor was buzzing as people sang along, danced the afternoon away, and enjoyed a wonderful atmosphere together.

A special thank you to Stephen for his brilliant performance, keeping everyone entertained with a great selection of 50's and 60's songs and creating such a lively atmosphere. 🎤✨

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces enjoying themselves and making new memories.

🌟 What a Success! Our first Young Onset Dementia (YO) connect group 🌟

What a fantastic morning at our very first YO connect group! 🎉

We were thrilled to welcome a room full of people who came together to enjoy a cuppa, cake, a quiz, and some great conversation. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and full of laughter, with lots of new connections being made.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the launch such a success. 💙

Due to the positive response, YO Connect will now run weekly on Fridays from 10am to 12pm at the LiveWell Hub. We look forward to welcoming familiar faces and meeting new people in the weeks ahead.
